Hey,

I'm writing a story for the "letters & transcripts" and I'm doing a chat between two people. In the first couple messages I wrote about an argument my bf and I had, but purely as something for my character to have gone through, to give her a little background. My boyfriend read the 5 page chat and went straight downstairs to accuse me of having hot cybersex with some guy behind his back. He was freaking out! I'm like, hey, that wasn't me, that was my character. And he says something along the lines of well obviously if I could think of it then I was willing to do it. Has this happened to anyone else?

Ha! I once was married to a man who reasoned that if I could talk to a stranger, I could probably also imagine having sex with that stranger...

Your bf is acting childish. You're allowed to fantisize about having sex, cyber or real, with anyone you fucking want (or want fucking;)), and that's none of his business. Fantasies are everyone's private right. As long as they remain fantasies, he has no right to critisize you for having them.

He knows you write here. He knows you write sex fantasies. He knows you're a writer and writers make up things partly based on bits of their own experience... doesn't he?

That said, I've done things that have amused my partner, and we've talked about it, but it's startling how the wrong thing can be said and the shutters come down. Hasn't specifically happened with a story, but there's this invisible line about recounting how you fancy someone else, and it being shared amusement, and...

This is another good reason for not letting anyone know you write porn - oops! - erotica. :D

Just because nobody has ever accused me of using five-day deodorant pads, simply because I wrote about them  doesn't mean that they wouldn't if I wrote about performing cunnilingus on a woman with a speech impediment.

This goes for everything in writing not just sex. I once wrote a piece, which had a very heavy scene in it concerning drug use. One fellow writer on a Critique group I used was convinced I was a junkie!

Research! Imigination! Creative writing! My study is littered with research books of all kinds, plus printed pages from the net. I co write with various other authors and print out each section I receive from them, these include sections on rape, murder, abuse, lust, love, theft. My SO is of the opinion I have gone quietly mad and am of no harm to anyone, as long as I am in arms' reach of the computer.

Chicklet: All I can say is talk to your SO, show them what they mean to you and say it's all just writing, a hobby, a need to put down in words, thoughts and ideas. It is no threat, it enriches you and by doing that enriches your relationship.

He felt threatened, by a character. That is so cute! That means you're a good enough writer to convince him that it was real.

He'll get over it and so will you.

How about sending him cybersex email? He might like that.

since many of my stories feature wives in adventuresome activities, its not her acccusing me that I'd worry about. Its her seeing how I portray characters that bear no resemblance to her ;)
