Has Kate had Her Baby Yet?

Well, bearing in mind that this little boy will have up to a dozen Christian names, you could have a long list of possibles.
Personally, I think a Philip will be in there because of the Duke of Edinburgh.
George is a nice traditional name, as is Edward.

Don't forget that when he takes to the throne he can use any name he chooses.
The prince known in the family as David would have become Edward 8th.

Now, can we all get back to a little normality please?

Yope! Really, I kind of feel sorry for the little guy. Hard as his parents may try for normality, there is no escaping the fact that some he will be king and doesn't really have much choice about his life.

OK. Now that the prince has arrived, what's the betting line in the UK on when/if QEII abdicates in favor of the prince's grandad Charles?

Christopher would be nice, after the TDF winner whose success has been drowned out by this trivial media storm.

Geoffrey is a good masculine name: Price Geoffrey of Cambridge sounds like royalty (to me at least). Inside the palace they could call him Geoff. I'm sure that this affectionate diminutive would spread to the yeomanry and the peasantry in no time. :D

Arthur. Of course, the last prince Arthur of Britain (Henry VIII's older bro) died, but I still think it would be cool to have a prince Arthur waiting for the British throne.

True! Queen Victoria was named Alexandra, and George VI (Elizabeth II's dad) was named Albert. Name change is when the crown is put on the head is totally possible.

Not likely. Her uncle's abdication made an impression on her (a bad one). She has said that there is no quitting this job. I suspect if she was incapacitated the government would do as it did in George III's day and have a regency with Charles as King in all but name. She'd remain Queen no matter what.

And given how long her mum lived (103, was it?), well, let's just say that we might lose the other two in line and end up with her great-grandson before she departs this planet.

They might name him King, so he can enjoy it, since Elizabeth is probably going to live to 180.

The UK is awash in kings named George or Edward. Charles will only be the III and William, I believe, the II. So something new is warranted along with the new, more middle-class kind of working royalty William and Harry are demonstrating. That's why I think he ought to be named after his grandfather, Phillip. Of course that will run nose first into the historical problem the British had with Spain's kings Phillip . . .

Maybe David would be a good name. The UK has never had a king named David . . .

William would be William V. The UK has had two kings called David - but north of the border. A Scottish precedent might be a smart move. Spencer might be a minor name - after his late grandmother Diana.

I know what his name won't be.

It's not going to be Oliver Cromwell Saxe-Coburg and Gotha.

I feel bad for Kate. From the day she got married it has become her sole purpose to breed an amuse the country.

She'll end up miserable and dead like Diana.

Okay, the kiddo's name is George Alexander Louis or Prince George of Cambridge. Now we know. Now we can get back to work.

George. Meh. Arthur would have been cooler. And there's no going back to work. There's the christening, the kid's first steps, first day of school....

:D

And just what sort of school do you think this infant will attend?
One with the local kids?

I doubt it, frankly.

And George is a more traditional name for an English King.
