I've talked on the phone with 6 AH people, 4 women and 2 men (I hope one of the blokes lost my number, don't ask). I've web-cammed with two other blokes, one more than another, very good experiences, helped forge our friendships.

I'll be meeting several AH people in Yorkshire on Jan. 4 but as I'll be there til the 11th I plan to meet more with a couple of 'em, and alone.

I once had a phone conversation with an online 'pal', not from Lit. We spoke of sex and at one point he said, "I could make you come right now if you like." I was stunned. I've had sex on first dates but I wasn't ready for an orgasm on the first phone call. Had no others with him either.

Some of them will be visiting my home, but the main event is in a safe, public place (actually, with there being several folk there, my home is going to be relatively 'public').

My take on "wisdom":

1. If you've got a SO, make sure they are on board before the event. If they find out afterwards you're almost certainly in deep shit!

2. Take relationships from the internet to real life in small steps: exchanging 'real' email addies, phone numbers, other info, only as trust develops. "Real life" websites (if you see what I mean) can be another source of bona fides before putting yourself at risk.

3. Rules for safe sex apply - if it turns out that way...
