Meh - I've never gotten sick from it, and having worked as a lab technician in the past, frankly I'd be more worried about getting sick from poorly prepared food in restaurants and fast-food places.

Those serve-yourself salad bars? they are wriggling with Escherichia coli (I've tested many in the past). How it gets there is one of life's great mysteries, but one can only assume there's a fair few people out there with a low concept of personal cleanliness.

As long as good hygiene is practiced, I see minimal risk to it - there's plenty of other things that can make you sick anyway so you may as well enjoy yourself
