I mean programs like......Corel, photoshop etc. I have always been too scared too. I know thats an easy way to get a bug and against the law too. But damn they have some sweet programs.

Grokster has a sister programme Morepheus...i've downloaded
keygens and "No-cd cracks" for games etc thru it.

Never had a problem...scan them with a virus scanner first
Most scanners scan incoming traffic over the web anyhow...if you have that enabled.

Go for it Wiz......

No shit????? Well thats where I'll be looking tonight......You know what they say.......If your not living on the edge your taking up too much space.

Off to see what I can find.:)

I scan anything and everything all day long so I'm ready.......

Draco, do you happen to have a link handy?........I did www.Morepheus.com and it seems to have taken me too.......imagine this.....a pron site....lol so I have done something wrong did I spell it correctly?

I found it rather funny.......................:D

Morpheus/Kazaa and HGrokster all share the sdame source code and work the same way. They even look a little similar.

Beware though there have been reports of those programds having troJans programs that spy one where toy surf and reports it to a website and it might do other stuff.

=================
Antivirus company Symantec last week reported the presence of "spyware" bundled with Grokster and Limewire, two popular file-swapping downloads. The code evidently does not damage computers, but it surreptitiously sends personal information such as user ID names and the Internet address of computers to another Web address

It was not what we thought this was," said Greg Bildson, Limewire's chief technical officer. "It was supposed to be a promotional tool...not blatant spyware."

Grokster has gone one step further, apologizing and providing its users with a program that will remove the offending bits of code from personal computers

"We have no access to the source code of these third-party installers and so we rely on what our advertisers say these programs do," the company wrote on its Web site Wednesday. "Now that we have learned of the Trojan, we are doing everything we can to minimize its impact on our users."

Because software programs are among the most popular downloads on the Net, the Trojan horse could potentially find its way onto a large number of computers. Kazaa, for example, is one of the most popular pieces of software available through CNET Download.com, a site operated by News.com's parent company, with more than 1.3 million downloads in the last week of December alone

Get program to remove the Trojan here.

I got the same info Pheonyx.

Wizard, I just got this warning in my email yesterday:

TROJANS IN SOME MUSIC SHARING SOFTWARE
Ever use LimeWire (Gnutella) and Grokster? Seems that
when you install these music/file-sharing programs, you also
installed a lottery game called "ClickTillUWin" whether you
click Yes or No. It contained a trojan horse. The Trojan looks
like it is sending your name and computer's IP address to a
web site. There are reports of the same activity with the
KaZaA file-sharing software. Our advice: uninstall these
programs immediately from your computer.

HOW TO PROTECT YOURSELF
Pretty depressing news, but the solution remains the same:
Always have your antivirus program running; download regular
virus definition updates; never open an unexpected attachment;
never accept (click on) a link to an unknown Web site--it could
be a lure to an infected site where you needn't do anything
other than visit to become infected; and disable scripts (or
choose Prompt) from your browser.

well, yes

and from morpheus to.

thats why i have norton, zone alarm pro ect, ect.

i also go to web sities that let me search my computer for trojans and stuff. i'm just jumpy that's all. i do port scans too. And spyware detectors

If "THEY" "get me" it will be after the fight!:D
