Has anyone else drawn the ire of story critic Stacnash? 🤣

I'm not sure I drew their ire, exactly, but I did get a review on my story Pygmalion 3.0 from them. That was in itself disappointing, as it is probably my most disposable and least serious story (obviously, none of my stories are serious, but you know what I mean, right?) Of course, there was no way she could know that, yet it was odd she selected that story: it was neither my most recent nor my highest viewed or scoring story at the time she reviewed it, so I wondered why she picked that one? I would have loved to have had her take on a story I actually cared about like Love is a Place or Eve and Lucy.

Maybe I should be careful what I wish for.

Her review was fair, I thought. There was a lot to agree with and the stuff I disagreed with was all subjective, eye-of-the-beholder stuff, so not really worth arguing about. Regardless, it was nice to get detailed feedback, if rather after-the-fact.

If you don't like what she writes, you can always delete her comments. Given she only has 5 followers (and one of them is dear April602), I doubt anyone apart from the authors themselves is reading her reviews or looking at her lists.

I still question how I managed a 5-star rating from her with a story that was not edited and was mostly posted as a joke.

Just take the win!
It's not much of a win if she's trolling and bullying much better authors than me for seemingly personal reasons. Makes me feel like I'm being used to sow discord within a hierarchy I'm not really part of. Or as a "gotcha" of some sort.

Yeah, doesn't really feel like a win to me.

LOL. I am. I am truly honored to be their in the list of 6 worst Literotica stories. rotflmao. I'd forgotten her review that one - it amused me at the time and I just loved the detail she went into on why it was so bad. It was quite a well written review and I felt flattered she had obviously spent a lot of time and thought on it so of course I left it up. Sadly, it's the only one of my stories she has ever reviewed.

I'm with @THBGato - take the win!

Oh, she's got way more than that. There is this entire forum, after all, who's watching her every move with bated breath and nervous anticipation ;)
For sure. I bet that more than a few AH-ers would love to click "Follow Stacnash" but are likely afraid of drawing the ire of others. Ah, how things have changed compared to a few years back...

That's a reflection on the calibre of the critique, I reckon. It's a bit of a "shake my head", to be honest. Odd.

Like I said in another post, despite the lengthy critiques, this person is simply someone with an opinion and that opinion is subject as it is for all of us. They are not some type of professional critic....then again, are they any different?

But as to who they like and don't like based allegedly on merit, anytime I see them mentioned in a thread I will point out that this person eviscerated an author here, they then raved and praised a story that same author wrote under a different pen name and they weren't aware of it.

So good bad or indifferent, its the same grain of salt any feedback should be taken with.

The only way someone would know that is if they clicked on people's 'follow' list. Maybe I'm the oddball here, but I've never done that. I don't care who follows who or unfollows who even if that who is me. Why do I care?

I could see two reasons people would follow them

One would be simple trainwreck fascination, who are they trashing now?

The other would be "Oh, please put me on that five star list! If you do I'll know you have taste!"

I can't read comments that long. I get them from time to time and as soon as I see they could be a damn story on their own, whether they're good or bad, I pass. I appreciate the effort to tell me why you liked or disliked it, but I don't have it in me to read through it.

I don't care if someone leaves a comment with a vote other than its sad how few actually comment.

Unlike some here I don't know every time I get a good or bad vote, I don't live or die by my stats or pore over spreadsheets looking at them.

If that's what makes people happy go for it, but those same people can make themselves miserable if they don't like what they see.

I have people in real life who despise me. They're a lot more entertaining than the trolls here.

Most of you, though few would admit it, quietly hope she’ll comment on every one of your stories.
You know, mind-reading is not a common talent.

Or to be less arch: pretending you know how other people feel is likely to annoy them. (Stacnash didn't annoy me, FWIW. Disagreeing with me or thinking I'm imperfect are fine.)

This thread caused me to drift through her lists.

Let's get something straight here. She claims literotica removed one of my stories for 'brutal rape content"

That story had been on this site for some time, and I removed it when a publisher wanted it for a dub con anthology and because they were paying upfront for the stories asked everyone involved to remove anything if it were free anywhere.

Delusional power tripper thinks they got a story banned. That's a good one.

LOTS of speculation about who stac is, and about what alts they might have... threads like this often serve to deepen that speculation.

They seem to like my stuff, which is fine; I like it too. But I tend to think it's crass to make lengthy lists of people whose work you don't care for. I get the arguments in favor of doing it, but they don't resonate with me. To each their own. For me, when I see a story or writer I don't care for, I just click away without virtue-signaling my distaste. Especially if they're a well-established writer with a good following here: plainly, they've found their audience and their work is widely appreciated. Why would that audience care that stacnash doesn't like their stuff?

Best just to pipe down and let other people like what they like, I think.

She was aware. She just liked one story and didn’t like the other. If anything, that proves she’s not playing favorites.

Spamming this thread clearly shows one doesn’t care about her opinion---not even a shred of bruised ego.
Sadly, that wasn't the case. If she were reviewing the stories and had painted it as "I loved this one, but hated this one" it would be one thing, but she's reviewing authors based on single stories seemingly chosen at random.

That's my main issue with her. Review the stories not the authors unless it's a full review of the author's work and a compilation of opinions based on those works as a whole.

No, she claimed the author herself was awful, not just a story.

But I see why you'd defend them; you're just like them.

You run your mouth, you bash people here, insult their work, the quality of the site in general and meanwhile you pulled your tiny list of stories because you didn't like what people thought of them because you're thin skinned. Meanwhile, how many alts did you get nuked here for being a tool?

Meanwhile everyone else here puts their work out there and deals with petty little wannabes.

Because that's a long-time consensus here when it comes to uppity trolls.

Show us how to do it or deal with being told you're irrelevant.

I wonder if anyone hates their own work? I know I have a few stories I look back on and think "Yeah, not my finest hour" but I don't think I hate them,

I also don't think anyone's audience actually sees anything this person or any others that do the same thing posts. Most people who don't post stories here have any substantial followings. People come here to read stories not sign up for critique accounts.

Where I don't care for that they do is someone like myself, or @ChloeTzang and some of the others on the shit list have had enough success here to not care about it and also have the zero fucks what you think approach. But some people who are more concerned with things like this and don't have good bases or accomplishments here can get upset by something like this. Should they? Many of us would say no, but everyone is different.

I think if you want to leave crappy comments and bombs that's one thing, creating Stasi lists is just petty bullshit.

Another thing not mentioned is the negative reviews this person leaves can have valid points, but they're nasty and insulting which takes most merit away from them. It comes across as not useful, just "yeah, okay, karen, we get it."
