i don't think President Biden is stepping down but if he decides to then Harris would definitely be the easiest transition financially and, importantly, 'face/name-recognition' wise with the voters.

it would leave a campaign a scant 3 months to get her image and sound bites out there at every opportunity enough to solidify the kind of november turnout she'd need.

having said that, i would certainly LOVE to see her verbally eviscerate trump at the podium in any debate he dared show up for.

Ocasio-Cortez noted that there is so far no consensus on an alternative to Biden, adding that many people who have called for his exit are not looking to Harris to take over.
“A huge amount of the donor class, and a huge amount of these elites, and a huge amount of these folks in these rooms that I see that are pushing for President Biden to not be the nominee also are not interested in seeing the vice president being the nominee,” she said.

Loyally voting "republican" out of "fandom" is one thing, but that doesn’t explain voting for Trump in the primaries. And even "fans" of a "star player" will usually throw them under the bus if that player commits certain acts: Rape, (being found liable for sexual assault) betraying the team (country), gambling on sports (profiting off the presidency), hurting the team financially with a contract (passing huge tax cuts for the wealthy and corporations), etc, etc,.

"republicans" who voted for Trump in the primaries, and those who continue to support him after all his vile transgressions, are faaaaaar worse than the typical loyal sports fanatics.
