What truly makes you happy?....and I don't mean like an ice cream on a hot day happy, I mean make your heart skip a beat,Thank God (or the higher being of your choice) your alive happy.

I have a few but the most moving to me are when my 12 year old daughter tells my husband (her stepfather of 8 years)that when she grows up, she wants to marry a man who will treat her just like he treats me. Also, My husband is a police officer where 3 officers have been killed in the 4 years he has been on, so just the sheer act of him walking in the door at 3:30 everyday makes me happy beyond belief.

Adrenaline rushes (of any kind), Saturday mornings with a coffee and the paper, the smell of a freshly mowed lawn, a really good cigar with a fine single malt, getting lost in a great book, most bodies of water, honest laughter, my dogs and for the most part life.

REALLY afraid of sounding like the unholy spawn of Dan Fogelberg, John Denver an PJ O'Rourke.

-when i am told i have been missed by someone special to me.
-my 3 yr old saying "I love you, Mommy."

-losing 50 lbs in 6 months.

This is Fantastic ... I'm trying my hardest to keep these happy threads at the top you know, it seems to me that some people WANT to fight.

Things that make me happy :-

My son telling me he loves me and hugging me tight.

The smile of a newborn.

Talking to my Best Friend Tina.

Having a stranger tell you that your son has wonderful manners and that you should be proud.

Hearing the one that I love, just hearing his voice makes me happy.

So many things make me happy, I am just a happy person, which I am quite proud of.

I would have to say my husband makes me smile then just looking at our kids...we created them that is so cool, and finally it is my two women on this board, just hearing from them makes me smile, hint hint

Just seeing my husband last night. He was in an accident, but wasn't hurt. The car slid off the road in a storm, across an on-ramp backwards, through a lamppost, which spun him around head on into a utility pole. The car's a mess, but he didn't even have a bruise.

Outside of that, my daughters, the chickadees living in the shrubs in our back yard, and my kitties - Max, Tallis, Spider, and our newest baby, Grendle.

OMG kitten, I know that feeling...my youngest daughter was hit by a car when she was three...her sister was holding her hand at the time. The car hit her right at her temple due to her height...she went into the air and my older daughter kept hold of her hand and pretty much caught her..which prevented her from hitting the pavement. I was right behind them when it happened and saw the whole thing. She was shaken up and had a sore arm but other than that she was fine. Having all my children safe in bed at night makes me happy.
