I do it publicly because it’s no secret how much I love you. Five years ago, I had no idea what one message could do or cause or become. I had no idea how much my life would change.
Hours and hours and hours of chat at absurd hours for both of our time zones. Thousands of photos. A handful of trips halfway around the world to be together. A few concerts by a certain Scottish synth pop band. A pandemic. A cancer diagnosis.
I am so very, very lucky to have you in my life. I am even luckier to have been able to look at you from across a table, or close together in bed, and tell you that. To lie next to you and share our laughter in person. To hold your hand a very specific way (always from the bottom!). I am, indeed, spoiled that I have those memories of us together to get me through hard times.
Even if I don’t always say it freely (or use other’s words to communicate my feelings), you are embedded so deeply in my soul, @AlpineFresco. You are a piece of me. Promise me you’ll stay.
