Happiness

IMO, the single biggest factor to happiness is being unafraid to be yourself.

Conversely, the single biggest misery factor is having to suppress your true self in order to please another. No matter how much you love that person, it will eventually take its toll -- both on your health & on the relationship.

Tell me about it. Story of my life. Always being told I wasn't good enough, not proper.

And as I found out recently, I still tend to believe that.

'Tain't always true. I remember several times driving the wagon and either metaphorically or literally punching the air because it felt so good to realise an ambition. I'm hoping my next career will have the same outcome.

Again, half way down the bottle and posting to Lit ain't to be sniffed at!

Strange how it takes studies like this to point out things that we all seem to know without questioning it.

We all know what will make us happy, but that knowledge is buried so far beneath the bullshit our societies have heaped upon us that we often can't find it.

The one big key to happiness is being happy with yourself. It's a lot like love, if you don't love yourself how can you love another? If you aren't happy with yourself then no matter what you do or attain you will still not be happy.
