What do women want?

Is it the men who want the sleek, no-pockets look on women, or is it the women who want it? I was researching women's office wear just this morning, and I was amazed at the impracticality of what passed as practical clothing. Appreciative, but amazed.

The women I've worked with usually wear bluejeans or something similar. Maybe they're living their fantasy lives.

I'm curious, if we introduced one extra category that was aimed for women, what category would do best...
Just a quick thought

Chores-Free. A day, a vacation, a retreat in which she doesn’t have to pick up somebody’s socks, wipe down the counter or put away empties. Not once…

He’s All Ears. A magical fantasy in which men are capable of listening empathetically.

New Mother’s Heaven. A magical place where she can sleep four or five hours straight.

OK, OK, OK, I get it, but nobody said fantasies have to be possible. 😍

I was going to suggest the "Non-Erotic" category, but I'm glad you gave us these instead.

I agree with the concerns people have voiced about sample size and representativeness, and it's irritating that Huffpo doesn't provide any link to the Bloom survey results or other information. But here you're criticising the HuffPo article for something it never said, based on a misreading of the words you quoted.

"Straight women were the least likely to share their group fantasy" is implicitly a statement about the subset about straight women who do have such a fantasy, not about all straight women. Taking that quote in isolation, that nuance might easily be missed, but the context in the HuffPo article should've made it pretty clear:
Wow, thanks for pointing this out! I actually read that "their" as "the" which basically reversed the direction of the implication/set inclusion in the whole statement.

I thus stand corrected on this point, though like you said the sampling still leaves a lot to be desired.

Idk, I am not in the majority I'm sure, but I think it's about finding the right erotic category, not a non-erotic one. And not a stereotype of what would make a woman happy either. But, again, I might be a lonely island of my own making out here. Haha

Just kidding :) But in all seriousness, regarding the pockets thing -

The yoga pants and tights with pockets for a giant nearly-tablet-sized cellphone is clearly a market-driven phenomemon.

I don’t think it’s men making those decisions.

Why assume that threesome means MMF? I think amongst my female friends a MFF is more likely.
A MMF just seems like to much work to me, MFF is nice because of the flow. At least that's been my experience.

Work, yes, but more fun to me. But, most other girls I've talked to agree the MFF is the only way they would do a threesome. I've only done MMF, but I would be open to trying the other kind once

Seriously? Women want us to listen to them (and pick up on non-verbal cues) to determine what they want in general and in the moment. Because each woman and each situation is unique. Want to know what your partner's fantasy is? Ask.

I mean, I'm sure there's a thread, or someone could create one, on Lit to get better broader numbers and responses. In which case, your sample size is much greater
A survey on Lit would be useless. Nobody knows who is who behind made up names.
Very few women in here...

weird because the people I talk to suggest the only 3some they would ever consider is FFF...
Go figure.

Who cares if men listen???

Much like this survey, any survey on Lit isn't going to be a truly representative sample. Whether here or on the erotica site from the article, women who frequent these sites are non-typical.

Fuck whatever the article says, we want pockets big enough to hold our phones and keys.

What we want sexually is varied to such a degree there will never be a consensus, but I think the pocket thing is the majority of us.
Men want that too. I understand why my wife frequently misplaces her phone and her keys, because I would too if I didn't have designated pockets for them, but it is still annoying when everything gets delayed until they are found.

I love this. I can think of a few more categories:

Pain-Free Breastfeeding. Stories in which nipples aren't ground into raw nubs, enabling more wonderful breast play while the kiddos sleep.

Great mothers-in-law. She only has good things to say, praising your cooking and even giving useful sex advice!

Where's That Clit? Stories about men who know exactly where it is and how to please it.

Manasking. Stories that begin with the husband/partner asking, "What do you think, honey? What do you want?"

She First. He pleases her before she pleases him.

Hi there, woman speaking on woman things for a moment, but keep in mind I am one woman and not all of them.

1) Romantic Sex: Hot as hell, I want to see CHEMISTRY. Good flirting, a strong connection, give me passion!

2) Woman receiving oral: So much about sex is male focused, even if your male character is dominant, he is allowed, even encouraged to provide pleasure to his partner.

3) Domination: True submission is given, why is she giving it? Has he earned it? I love a dom who doesn’t need to use physical force to get what they want because they know how to work their sub.

And please, please please please, stop calling breasts mounds. It’s weird, it’s uncomfy and I would walk out of a room if a man said I had “beautiful mounds.”
