Halloween Support Thread

2nd to last editing phase. Back from my editor the 1st time, now I'm just fixing my stupidity (alot of stupidity FYI) and making sure the halloween elements are fully there... although its not your standard trick or treating halloween thing.

I think it shows I was forced to go to bible camp and recite verses a few too many halloweens as a child. Is it bad to have such a stong association with locking yourself up in your house and Halloween?

Shut the door, keep out the Devil....

I recently posted a story about the ghost of Elvis Presley in the E/C category. It has only 1,445 views and five votes averaging 4.40. That is in three days, including a weekend. I certainly hope my Halloween story does better than that.

You know there's a song like that..

(sung to Jamacan beat)

Shut the do', (sounds like dough) Keep the devil in the night
Shut the do', Keep out the devil
Light a candle everything's alright
Light a candle everything's alright

Some songs just stick with you, even if you only hear them once.

Now if the song is stuck in your head like it is stuck in mine, all will be right in the world :)

Being from uber white land :p we of course learned it with 'proper' english ;) but yes :)

Og,

I may have mentioned this before, but I'm a Reform Druid. It's probably a new world thing. In addition to trees, we also worship bushes. At least we did until a few years ago. Now there's the threat of a schism. A splinter group, so to speak, is pushing to include the Judeo-Christian concept of a burning bush as a sacred object.

I'll keep you posted.

Yours in Druishnes.

And I'd got the impression that burning Bushes was becoming a mainstream ambition?

Is it too late to beg for someone else to look at my now finished story and perchance make a comment or two?

Any takers?

It's always a fresh marvel, the way that extreme religosity and extreme perversion end up looking so much like each other. Do pass the flagellum, and let the ritual scourging begin.

I'm not biased, really.

Well, mine's creeping me out, so I suppose it's worth something.

*shudder*

Just copy-edited it, and the thing is damned unsettling.

I'm counting the days until the first. :) Please do read it; I would be delighted, whatever you vote.
but but but... i don't want to wait that long.

gosh, it seems like almost everyone is finished with their stories. Mine is still in the form of an idea, so I don't know if it will be ready for the contest. I still have some time to get cracking on it.

BS, please, no begging.

Promise I'll be round with the carrots and the sugar lumps as soon as you slip outside your stall.

Still looking for a groom to towel you down?

What about stud fees? :rose:

elfin,

You really know how to talk that nasty equine lingo.

Over the last five years, the ambition of many Reform Druids has been to re-connect with that old-time Druidism by means of a genuine Burning Bush. In conformity with established policy opposing artificial Christmas trees, any substitute for the real thing is held unacceptable..

The time for trolls is almost here!!!! I can hardly wait!

That is most depressing to think about ya know....
I truly hate that some will go through and just tank stories because they are contest stories or because of who the writer is.... have personal experience with that one (mutters)

Always, E

Ah, doesn't she, though? And notice the masterful touch of the truly delicious tease ... tells me not to beg, then guarantees that I will. I could learn to love a woman like that.
