Halloween Support Thread

Good Luck everyone!

I started a Halloween story for shits and giggles.
It won't be done in time, (I can't seem to finish a story lately) and I'm a scardey cat anyhow. :)
(To submit in a contest that is.:))

Hope you guys are having fun!

Submitting to a contest does have advantages and disadvantages.

The advantages are:

1. Your work is seen by many more people than usual.
2. You are likely to get more views, more votes and more feedback than usual.
3. You might win - the real contest for money, or the dishonour? of the Last Place Contest.
4. You can moan about votes and comments with all the other AH contenders.

The disadvantages are:

1. Your work is seen by many more people than usual and some of them will not like your story.
2. You are likely to get more views, more votes and more feedback than usual. Some of the votes and feedback may be unpleasant.
3. You might lose - the real contest for money, or the dishonour? of the Last Place Contest - and join most of us in mediocrity.
4. You WILL moan about votes and comments with all the other AH contenders.
5. Your sensibilities will be lacerated by 'anonymous'. But that happens to almost every author who posts.

Go for it. All you have to lose is your peace of mind!

And the time is upon us... all I can say is good luck to all... and enjoy the comments and the trolls.

May we all be winners, if not in the voting than in the glow of knowing we have done good work.

By the way, I have always liked cats. I would be glad to pet your kitty and see where that led. :p

meow!!! :catroar:

I DID submit... but asked it not be accepted/posted until Oct 1...

one more day... ! :)

My story has been posted and it is listed as being on Oct. 1. Actually, it is still Sept. 30 where I am but in the Eastern Time Zone it is after midnight. I posted one story that I had planned for the contest, one that is different as I described in an earlier post. I also have another one that was not going to be entered because it is not a Halloween story but, since I was going to submit it today, I decided to enter it. It's actually in the science Fiction category but it whould get more views in this contest.

Well Done!

The competition has started with a great list of submissions by contributors to this thread. Thank you all.

Everyone else - keep writing. Or editing. Or getting your act together.

My stories are still incomplete. Maybe one will be ready tomorrow.

With so many submissions on day 1 this could be a hard fought contest.

I saw a troll feeding once *shudder*

I don't sleep so well anymore....

Submitted. Now to await the trolling. :) Or, better yet, the "not enough sex" comments. ;)

Wow I didn't think they'd get anything up that fast.

Given I think my typical wait is about 8 days, 8 hours seems lightning quick.

Now to find time this weekend to read what everyone has up.

Okay, OPINIONS!! :D

Which sounds better?

A. The earth had just been bathed in rain and the cars outside of Gina Lowry’s window passed through the remaining puddles with a hurried hissing.
