I dress up whether or not I have any actual occasion to do so.

There are always the two or three idiots at work who dress up, but nobody else does.

My Halloween is spent shuttling the child door to door, I don't do anything except put a little snort of something strong in the thermos of "hot chocolate" I sip while escorting him around the neighborhood.

We did go trick or treating at Disneyland one October. That was fucking awesome. They close down the park for only people who buy the trick-or-treat passes. You walk around from station to station and score as much candy as you want and all the rides are running and the wait times are just a few minutes.

Heh. I lost interest in Halloween. My POV changed. The hoopla surrounding it, the over-the-top commercialism, etc.. has contributed to that. For everyone else, fine. For me? I tend to withdraw from anything relating to it.

At work, I am in a bigger leadership role now, so my 'disinterest' was much more noticeable last Halloween. I do not openly discourage it in r/l because I do not want to spoil it for others, especially for kids. But it is obvious to others I am not into it. At one time I was, but it was mostly a front even then.

The thing you did at Disneyland w/the kids sounds really cool. This Halloween, I am playing babysitter to some teens at a friend's house, while they take the little ones trick or treating. Not sure if I will like that. 1 or 2 teens? Fine. But a house full of them on Halloween? I am sure I'll need some nerve pills.

Halloween is big in Manhattan. Get drunk. Go to the Village. See stuff you can't unsee.

I cosplay so I fucking LOVE Haloween. I made a Once-ler costume, but I don't really have anywhere to go this year. It's my first year without a party.

*cries*
