Have you noticed that decorations are going up earlier and earlier every year? And not just Halloween, but practically every major U.S. holiday. And what is up with the orange lights? Five years ago there were no such things and now it looks like its Christmas with orange and black lights in place of red and green. I just felt like griping about something ever since I realized I was too old to go trick or treating. Damn the age limit.

For some reason, just because retailers start selling the decorations so early, people think it means they need to put them up right away.

I like doing halloween in Mid-October.

We've always had orange and black lights - but we made them instead. I absolutely love Halloween more than any other 'special' day of the year, so I always decorate and celebrate above and beyond what's normal.

Thanks for reminding me. I have to put my summer decorations away and pull out the autumn stuff. Yes, it's a bit ridiculous how early retailers put decorations out so early. I don't decorate for specific holidays, but I have things like candle holders and other small season specific things that I put out around the house. Ya know, the house needs a change of scenery.

Laughing!

I absolutely love Halloween. But, because all the stores have put all the Halloween stuff out on the shelves so early, my 4 yr. old son is completely obsessed with me buying decorations. I have already spent well over $100 on decorations this year.

At this rate, I will be burned out on Halloween by the time it actually gets here. Until then, my house is completely decorated in orange pumpkin lights, black spider lights, every creepy crawly spider you can imagine, skeletons, witches, I even have a crystal dish filled with water that contains floater candles in the shapes of bats and black cats.

I kind of freaked out last night, when I turned off all the lights in the house, and caught a glimpse of glowing evil eyes from across the room. Oh well, my son is happy!

Halloween is the second biggest "holiday" for most stores, that's why they put stuff out so early.

We don't take our kids out trick-or-treating. Instead, we have a family party for them, watch scary movies, and buy a sh!tload of candy for them as well. They still dress in costumes for school, and dress in costumes for our Halloween at home, so they have fun.

When did we start to 'decorate' for Halloween anyhow? It seems like all of a sudden they have lights and all kinds of out door crap I never seen before. It is like a warm up for Christmas. Ying and Yang though.
