Some folks were born for this holiday. A flyer I'm making for the local school Halloween party (very UNpagan.) It's much bigger, and I had to scan it in portions. (Don't they make scanners that are bigger than 18 x 11?)

very cool your very artistic im jealous i wish i could do things like that

thanks ;) Anyone else make their own decorations or costumes? I make my costumes. Last year I was jester (how appropriate). This year.... well, I'm working on it still.

Yes ask at your local comercial copy shop(no not Kinko's or Staples) they should be able to do at least 36" wide by what ever length you want :)

Nice poster too

halloween is alot bigger in american and canada then it is here in the uk ... i havent thought about it much probably wouldnt do anything for it unless get invited to a party or something

You know there was a lot of talk about starting a gallery here on Lit earlier this year and I think this poster would be just the sort of thing we're looking for.

I'll do that, Harpoon, thanks. I have to run a gazillion copies, anyway. The style of drawing I'm actually mimicing from another artist that I admire. I have yet to find my own style. So people come to me with an idea, or something they saw... and viola! I turn it into what they want. It's simple, really. No need to be jealous of me, anyone can do it.

I never used to get into Halloween so much, but as I've gotten older, it's become one of my favorite holidays, with Valentine's coming in at a close second.

It is my FAVORITE holiday. Not sure why, but I am sure it has to do with the old black and white movies I watched as a kid.. got to love Boris, Bela and Lon. I collect old Halloween decor and old post cards. I have even gone so far as to get a tattoo of the haunted mansion from the Scooby-Doo cartoons on my leg...it has a few bats and tombstones with a big orange moon behind it. :)

The pic looks awesome! Nice and colorful!

Halloween is also my favorite holiday. I love decorating the house, and dressing the kids up, and doing the school parties, and taking them to all the relatives dressed up, and then.. the annual big people halloween party that our friends have is just AWESOME. Too bad i am preggy this year and can't enjoy the full benifts.

Outta curiousity, what is everyone's most unique halloween costume?

I went as bubblegum one year. I was litteraly a huge pink blob, no hands, feet, or anything else visable.

We get to dress up at work at the hospital

And I went as a pumpkin.. Had the little leaf hat, the huge blown out orange body, orange leggings and green little elf shoes...oh, it was bad.. Had no Idea it would scare the patients, but went into one patients room and touched them softly to wake them up, and they looked at me and screamed! .. Needless to say, I changed into some scrubs..

I love Halloween. I just usually have to work it every year..

Great poster Myst:)

I mentioned this in another thread, but as a child, I went as one of Cinderella's stepsister. In the original, non-Disneyfied version, the stepsisters slice off their toes and heels in order to fit into the dainty glass slippers. So I painted my toes and heels with my mom's red lipstick, and wore clear acrylic Cinderella shoes. Not a single person knew who I was.

Last year, Mr. Mischka and I had a two part costume. I pinned an individual serving size packet of salt to my shirt, and he clipped a Everready battery to his shirt. We were...assault and battery. :D

And in the end the birds pluck their eyes out and the mice rip their hair out.

You just didn't put on enough lipstick, that's why no one recognized you.

*Smacks forehead.*

Of course! Thank you for pointing out the error of my ways, Never. Maybe I should try it again, but this time I could get some fake birds and mice, and attach them to my face and hair. Along with the extra lipstick smears. Then everyone will instantly recognize me.

Lavy, how do you think that'll go over at the law school Halloween party?

Great poster Myst...I like that it's not just your typical orange and black.

Weirdest Halloween costume...2 yrs ago...ex, me, 5 yr old and 7 month old went as KISS. Make-up, hair, costumes...the works. (I know I have mentioned KISS quite a few times...no I am not a fanatic...ex is. )

I was counting on you in the leather nun outfit! I was going to go as the Domme priest. :p
I think that would definitely win the costume contest, though it would also assure that we would get bizarre looks in the halls for the remainder of our law school lives. :p

I think we SHOULD have a halloween contest on Lit. Gilly, you went as bubblegum? Wow! I've only been ordinary things, like witches, tigers, jesters, sunflower, pumpkin, etc. This year I'm going as one of my school's board members. ;)

That's very cool Myst!

I also make my own costumes. Well I don't sew them or anything. But I buy different pieces of regular clothes and put them together. Last time I dressed up I was a gypsy.
