I have to admit it. I'm a (kind of picky) reality show junkie. "American Idol," "Survivor," "Big Brother," "Last Comic Standing." I don't miss episodes. If I *do* by some horrid mischance, I curse myself fluently until the next episode comes up and I can at least see the "previously on..." at the beginning. I guess you can kind of include certain game shows in that - "1 v. 100," "Power of Ten," a couple of others.

So what's *your* non-BDSM "guilty pleasure?" What do you do, or watch, etc., that you wouldn't necessarily want the rest of the (normal) world to know about? (Of course, we Litsters don't count - you can tell us anything!)

(This may have been done before, but I don't remember it, and didn't find anything that seemed related in a search. Of course, Lit's search feature sucks, but that's a topic for a different thread.)

SirW....You watch Big Brother??????????????? We MUST chat!!!!!!!! Who do you like to win? Who do you hate? (i personally think this is the best season in a few years...)

Reality TV is my guilty pleasure as well. BB, Amazing Race, Amer. Idol.

kung fu movies. The newer ones and the old 1970's with the bad voice overs. They are just so much fun to watch!!!

Don't tell anyone though ok. lol

Well I used to watch 'Friends', but it's not on when I'm up anymore. Hm. I can't think of anything else.

Well, BDSM is not a "guilty" pleasure for me...

But I have lots that are, including picking up cheap women's magazines in the grocery check-out lane and reading bad sci fi / watching every sci fi film that comes along, no matter how lame... I also love "Amazing Race" and have been known to become addicted to the occasional season of "Survivor"

Project Runway. This is the only show that has ever caused me to have to be at a house that has cable when it airs.

West Wing - I own all seven seasons and am working my way through the full run again for the 4th time.

and Stargate (both)
and all sci-fi shows even remotely connected to a ship called Enterprise
and Battlestar Galactica

and cowboy movies

and ( ) war movies

;)

Oh, I thought of a recent one. I have a weekness for the higher-end gossip magazines. Not like enquirer, but like People and Us.

I usually watch TV when I'm eating dinner which equates to an hour a night. Except on Thursdays, when Survivor and CSI Las Vegas are on...two hours that night.

Saturday nights, I try to time dinner with any show that Alton Brown is hosting on the Food Network. I love that guy and all his science in cooking! Oh yeah, if there are horse races being televised on Saturday or Sunday afternoons, I'm right there, but those broadcasts are not frequently televised on network channels (except on Kentucky Derby day or Breeders Cup day - five hours...I am in horseracing heaven!)

I do enjoy American Idol, although I tend to watch all the goofy try-outs, then fade away until it gets down to the 12 finalists.

My DVR didn't record the whole BB show and I don't know who Jessica put up on the chopping block!!! Someone please tell me who they picked!! I can't believe stupid-ass America told Eric to try to get gorgeous Dustin off!! I'm freaking livid!

Oh, I happen to love reality TV if you didn't already guess. :D BB, Survivor, and Hell's Kitchen are among my favorites.

Another one of my guilty pleasures are ABC soaps. God bless Soap Network!! :nana:

Pepsi, Law and Order SVU, and Lindt Extra Dark truffles. If any of those disappear, I am going to mourn for a long time.

Jessica put up Evil Dick and Daniele. If one of them wins POV, Eric will try again to get Dustin put up as the pawn to ensure the other goes.

I think Eric's strategy to get Dustin nominated the first time was weak. He shouldn't have badmouthed Dustin like he did. He should have just emphasized that Dustin first said he wanted to go up against Dick, and that he would still be safe even if Dick won the POV, because when Dick took himself off, Jess could put Daniele up. IMNSHO, that would have been a much better strategy for him to use. And of course, if Dustin, his partner or Jess/her partner won the POV, they could take Dustin off and put Daniele up against Dick, ensuring that one of them goes. Oh, well...

Hmm... I also am hooked on CSI (all three), Shark, and a couple of others. I don't consider them guilty pleasures, though, because they're "normal" entertainment with a little bit of intellectual/knowledge-based stuff. Jorja Fox is hot. I'd *love* to have her over a flogging bench... and feeling that little gap in her front teeth *very* lightly scraping.... YOWZA!

What do you think would happen to Eric if he gave America the finger and did what he wanted. Would BB blow his cover or kick him off?

Oh man, I should get cable!

In the meantime, my only vice is peanut butter fudge ice cream.

guilty pleasure

The fact that i don't like reality tv is probably hard to grasp....hehe

My guilty pleasure is watching Disney and Cartoon Network, even when the kids aren't here. :) :nana:

Yes, I see your point. My comment about CSI was due to the fact that it comes on after Survivor (which I absolutely refuse to miss), and so I find myself in front of the TV a little longer than usual. The good thing about Comcast On Demand is that it allows one to watch CBS episodes of shows after they've aired. So, if by some crazy, wild chance I miss a Survivor or a CSI, I can watch it at my leisure. That is such a nifty perk to that particular cable service.

The relationship between Gil and Sara has become very intriguing. I can't wait to see what this season holds for them.

I'm not into the reality shows like BB etc., but I am addicted to any of the dance ones (I would also get almost as addicted to music ones like Idols, but he just can't extend his patience that far so I skip them in the name of peace). I am currently following BBC's Dance X with Arlene Phillips and Bruno Tonioli battling it out, and waiting for the next Strictly Come Dancing season. They are also showing the US version (Dancing With The Stars?) which I have been watching and can see why so many US celebs who were interviewed about the BBC series said the US one wasn't of the same standard. It is fun to watch, but the US celebs don't have the same level of dedication overall (lol, they certainly practice a lot less hours a week than their UK counterparts), and unfortunately the dancing suffers. Regardless, it has to be really, really bad dancing before I will flick it off.

My other addictions in these lines are any programmes to do with travel (though mostly not the 5 star hotel type), different cultures, and animals. I can also get trapped into shows like Mastermind and Eggheads...not for the who will win as much as exercising the brain cells...could watch them (well more like listen to) all day somedays if it were possible. All helps pass time when my work is done and he is caught up with WoW. :p

Of course my biggest addiction is photography (runs about even with dance), but best not get me onto that.

Me too! Well, Disney anyway :) Looking forward to this Friday...lol

I enjoy a lot of shows reality and others. I'm shocked at how well Eric has done so far.

I hated Kail from about minute 3 because she is rich and against gay people.

I hated Jen from the weeping about her "bad" picture thing. Also her way of saying how she doesn't understand any of her feelings. She has serious problems, IMO.

I hated Jessica from the moment I heard her high pitched voice. Her big long standing grude is over $5.00? WTF?

I hated Amber from the moment she lied and convinced herself she didn't, about a week or two ago when they outed Nick. Also, for someone who knows she is going to be on TV, she could have looked so much better in so many ways.

I have some empathy for Danielle.

I think Dick is a jerk for his trash talk particularly against women, strategy. Otherwise, I am touched and pleased by his loyalty for his estranged daughter. I was also quite surprised by how many people he really does know like Dilana! I miss her.

I want someone to come back in the house but it doesn't look like that will happen this year.

Also I wonder, if Eric is voted out, is there a "back up America's Player?"

I watched The Pickup Artist the other night. I'm real curious, what the geeks and social dudes are going to be "taught."

I don't consider these guilty pleasure cause I don't feel guilty.

*smiles*
