Feeling ignored on the boards? Want people to pay attention? Feel left out of all the juicy PMs? Want to be liked and admired?
Don't worry, it's easy to be popular here. Just follow the simple three step program and you too can be an admired part of the "in crowd" -- and maybe even build up an admiring fan base.
1. Be sweet and flirtatious. This is an obvious one, play nice with the right people. But lots of people do that, and are hardly noticed. Surely there is something more?
2. Get angry and passionate. Pick out the unpopular ones, they are easy to identify. Go for the trolls, over and over and over again, this place never gets bored with that. Make some strong passionate statements that show the courage of your convictions -- just as long as you are pretty sure your audience agrees with your convictions. Someone make a reasoned but unpopular statement, something that could be genuinely controversial? Go for their throat, unload on them! Go too far? Perfect, because then you can...
3. Show remorse. Let's face it, the ones who always make reasoned and classy responses -- and there are many of them -- are a bit on the boring side. Much better to just go overboard -- and come back and apologize a day or two later. Your popularity will quickly become stronger than ever! Shows what a classy person you are, and what a big heart you have, even your targets will say nice things about you in relief. This one works so well that you should plan on repeating it at least once a week.
So just remember the Lit cycle: fluff, savage and come clean. Do it over and over again, just like a washing machinge, and you too can be part of the "in crowd".
