god but i needed that, folks. seriously, thanks so much. it's been a bad, bad fucking few weeks.
i was typing up a blog entry on the train home last night, the kind you never show another living soul b/c it's so damned naked you could see my entire circulatory system. i got off the train, saw my wife waiting for me and as i raced past all the indecisive schmucks who don't know how to walk in a straight line (honestly, WTF is that about?), i hopped in the car.
she greeted me w/ a kiss and a smile and i felt a lot better.
we got home and she did the greatest thing w/ my present (the nasty bits, by tony bourdain): she got me a second present but sent me on a treasure hunt for it! she wrote up these adorable rhyming clues on index cards (lime green, hence matching the wrapping paper of the book). it was the greatest thing: it was fun, cute, adorable and had to have been a serious PITA to do.
and while it turned out that the present itself was something we already had, that wasn't the point.
she knew, w/out my having to say a word, that i was in some very bad places emotionally, and she did this to help guide me back to the path.
i so do not deserve this woman, you guys. i don't. i swear that she's far, far too good for me.
