Hello everybody,

A deep empathy for submissives, a never-ending joy in their company, and an irresistible urge to control and nurture them physically and emotionally have seen me happily through 20 years of owning my own slaves and of mentoring and helping scores of others.

I know that saying so will immediately draw hostile fire, but I am a Gorean Master. Here I am with my new slave, and of all things it's a darling little friend from my childhood! I am still not sure how I managed to end up with five--yes five--kids, but it's a riot (you may take that literally).

I'm looking for a safe place for my girl to discuss BDSM with other open-minded people, because prior to meeting me she didn't know BDSM existed. Before I allow her to post, I will monitor the atmosphere to be sure she will not feel persecuted, as is common in many online forums.

"...free women, it is no secret, in many respects, envy their enslaved sisters, their beauty, their joy, their attractiveness to men; this may explain why free women are often quite cruel to slave girls..."

No hostile fire from me.... I don't even know what a 'Gorean Master' is! Would you please explain? (I promise I'll hold my fire at least until you are done. ;) )

To tell you the truth, that wasn't exactly a diplomatic way to enter a room.

Think about it...... LOL...

Anyway........

I'm not a slave, but I'm not cruel either. Hmmm... well.... actually, you better ask Shy or Catalina (two slaves here) to verify..... :p

Welcome to Lit, Lochlin. :)

Alice

I don't think you'll garner hostile fire for being Gorean though you might get some ribbing for it. Mostly people around here try to be pretty tolerant of the way everyone else lives there lives and you'll find everything from those that are only online to those that are in 24/7 relationships on the boards.

If you want your girl to have a place where she can ask general BDSM questions and recieve good answers from people with experience you're looking in a good place but if you want a place where she can ask questions specific to Gor than you might need to do a little more looking.

Hope you're both happy and the kids aren't driving you nuts!

It's a quote from one of the Gor books by John Norman. The Gorean philosophy is based on them.

I've been looking forward to hearing about the Gorean lifestyle and meeting those in it for a long time.

I wish you and your slave welcome and hope you find a welcome place to express yourselves here.

Hi, Caela.

I don't recognize the author John Norman, and I have never heard of Gor or the "philosophy". Like everything else here, though, I welcome the opportunity to learn about it.

Regarding that quote.... No matter where it originated, I still think it's a helluva way to enter a room occupied by at least some non-slave women.

Everyone around here seems rather open minded, so long as no one's trying to force their own ideas upon others.

I think I'm a bit prejudiced when I hear someone describe their lifestyle as Gorean, but I personally would never try to change them or belittle them for their own life choices ;)

The Gorean lifestyle tends to fall under a lot of criticism in "mainstream" BDSM circles. I think it's natural to be a bit defensive, but I understand your point as well.

The Gorean lifestyle in real life is just about the same as a Master/slave relationship.

I've read a number of them and depending on the situation of the main character at the time there are almost as many good quotes about Free Women as well.

The quote really makes more sense in the context of the books. On the world Norman created there is no higher being than a Free Male and no lower being than an enslaved male. Free and slave women tend to fall somewhere in between. Free women are generally treated with some amount of reverance and respect and perhaps a bit of contempt as well. If they're of a higher caste they also tend to live life in a gilded cage because otherwise they run the risk of being stolen and enslaved which can be done at the whim of basically anyone that can snatch her. Slaves in the books are just that and not in the consensual/erotic context that most of us know but in the...I bought you, your life is mine, piss me off and I can chop your head off way. It's absolute and leaving isn't a choice. However they're also very expensive and very well cared for and they actually tend to have more freedom a lot of times than Free women.

Norman wasn't the greatest writer but they are somewhat interesting books when you consider that people try to emulate them to some degree and they're not bad as light reading.

Thank you, Marquis.

The information in the first sentence is very helpful for me to know, and I appreciate your comment in the second very much.

Thank you for taking the time to describe the books to me, Caela. :rose:

I am actually a bit confused at the moment. I am hoping that 'non-consensual' is not part of the philosophy endorsed by Lochlin, in proclaiming himself to be a 'Gorean Master'.

No problem! I can ramble on about books I've read forever. lol

I truly doubt the "non-consensual" applies in Lochlin's life. I was trying to paint you a clear image of the books. How it is actually practiced in the real world I have no idea but my guess would be that is like KC said above and probably looks like a strict Master/slave relationship...but that's my guess. If Lochlin comes back you can ask though. :)

Tal & Greetings Lochlin

Though new to the Lit Forum I would also like to extend to you and your girl a welcome. Its charming to witness the level of care you extend to your one.

I have the of pleasure of knowing 3 true Gentlemen that have adapted aspects of Gorean philosophy to their everyday lives and live by strong codes of ethics which I have always admired. I think perhaps if anything much will be exchanged in information away from the negative stereotypes .

I wish you and yours well Lochlin

Hi! Come on and make yourself comfortable.

I'm with Marquis. I'm definately curious about the Gorean lifestyle. Beyond that, I don't care what you call yourself as long as you're nice to people. *shrugs*

Cool, so you do all those special effects on those zombie movies?

Xelebes, you're weird. *hugs*

Zombie movies. Like Dawn of the Dead! Come on, some one has to know how to make these movies so gruesome. Geez!

I knwo the movies. I have no idea what gorean masters have to do with them.

The cute geek is punning on Gor/gore. A Gore-ean Master would be a horror movie special effects guru..

Hello Lochlin, :)
you seem to have found a place with lots and lots of curiosity about gorean lifestyle (sorry, can't think of a better word, but it's early and stuff).
I heard a bit (like half-sentences) that made me know that the gorean way isn't held very highly with other BDSM folks and always wondered why. Or what it's about.
So I would be glad if you explained your way of BDSM, your relationship with your slave, and how you feel it's different from 'normal' BDSM.
Or, if you're content that we won't be mean to your slave, have her explain a bit, while others here (I'm not knowledgable about most things BDSM related) explain what they know. Puts me in a nice win-win situation :D

Welcome Lochlin and his "girl"
I being new to the art of BDSM can be rather timid about asking qiestions and receiving the responses, but the people here have made me feel welcome and have answered many of my questions.

I do hope you'll both stay and post with us. Listen to me "us" like I know everyone already. I guess that is just a sign that reflects how very welcome the Doms/subs & ohters have made me feel on this site.

Enjoy and I for one will be looking forward to your posting.
