green tea

Why are yellow people scary?

We got blue folks in my neck of the woods.

There's this rare genetic disease called Methemoglobinemia, because everything in Appalachia has to have the word "meth" in it somewhere. If you have that and then you take in a lot of iron, like say there's coal slurry in your water or whatever, you'll turn straight up blue like a fucking smurf. It's rare but there are folks just walking around blue and shit.

The thing is, the toxins have to build up, so you start out as just a normal white person and you slowly turn blue over time.

So like... just a friendly reminder that the world might be a little more fucked up than you thought.

Also, friendly reminder that if folks didn't fuck their cousins, we wouldn't have people with extremely rare recessive medical conditions that make them open to the environmental factor that TURNS YOU INTO A GODDAMN SMURF.

So like... don't fuck your cousins or you'll have smurf kids- looking at you, shockingly popular incest section of literotica.

Shouldn't take supplements and vitamins unless doc says so. It's not rocket science.

Maybe if you coat your leaf water in honey and sugar it's palatable.

I've always hated tea- and I will remind you that I'm from Appalachia, where that is sacrilege. Sometimes you'll go to a cookout or over to somebody's house and that's all they got. People love that shit. Like they say that the English like tea but I ain't never seen yhall buy it by the gallon.

Also, I've made this mistake of thinking it was coffee before, because some bitch thinks it's ok to drink tea out of coffee cups.

...to be fair there have been an uncountable number of times I should have learned the lesson of not drinking out of other people's cups, yet I never have.

Candi, maybe it's because most Americans make bad tea.

This story gets told over and over, with a different supplement or a different side effect. Over and over.
It's that age old human idiocy that if a bit of something is good for you then a vast amount of it is even better. It's not.

I'm pretty sure it's the same tea. It's not hard to boil water.

It's really not. Half of them leave the bag in ffs!

Good tea is an art form. I don't make it because I don't make it well. Better no tea than bad tea.

I enjoy a hot cuppa.

Supplaments with propriety blends that don't list the quantities of individual ingredients are dangerous. Trademark that shit! The FDA don't care. What's a little liver damage when profit margins are through the roof?

Real question- why the hell would you take the bag out? It's already weak as dishwater; that's why I don't like it.

I think that the mindset is that if you let it soak for the whole time you're drinking it, then it'll actually have a TASTE and not "an underlying hint of bitterness".

Both of my lovers drink the shit out of tea, the iced kind and the kind that you make. So I know that this is on me- bf even made it his life's goal to make me like that shit because apparently it's culturally important or some nonsense. He's got the little metal thing that you put like, actual leaves that look like you gathered them from a fucking forest glen surrounded by fairies or someshit, not even bags, like just literally dried leaves like, "Oh but you'll like this one. It looks like yard waste! That makes it better."

Like shut the fuck up and make me some coffee, Danny Boy.

Also, for some reason he thinks it cures illness, like, god knows why. But if I'm sick or if I have a sore throat, which I perpetually do because I smoke, he'll be like, "Here's some tea that will cure that!"

I'm like, "Yeah my culture thinks flat 7-up is magic, I know what a psychosomatic cure is. And BECAUSE I know, it won't work. This is just you trying to get me to drink something gross."

We do just that there. ;)
Also grow our own peppermint etc.

Well, my grandmother was an actual witch, she really knew use for every little weed. It isn't all bullshit and just plain out placebo magic either, some of that is actually scientific and used in real medicine. Like where do you think the active substances come from, many are derived from actual plants.

Too bad she died unexpectedly before I was old enough to start picking it up for real and my sister wasn't interested either.

My granny does that shit too, but whatever plant bullshit she makes is gonna do exactly the same thing as a medicine and the medicine's gonna taste better. I'm not a big fan of homeopathic medicine. I know that some of it based on science actually does work, because it's what the pharmacists are distilling to make the medicine, but like... you can get the medicine now, that is concentrated and just take it. You don't have to drink a whole glass of nastiness. Like, cranberry juice will actually help your kidneys is a real thing and I'll do that one because I will just drink cranberry juice, but if I didn't I'd rather have medicine.

That's the only real one I can think of at the moment.

Edit: So... uh...
Big problem. The googles are telling me that tea with honey really does help with sore throats.

Yhall I might be an asshole this has been a big fight before. Kind of feeling pretty bad about that.

Well... I'm not gonna mention it but if it comes up I'm gonna graciously accept that I'm wrong and just watch the fucker gloat.

I think perhaps the main problem here is that you have dedicated so much of your life to brutally murdering your taste buds with a constant barrage of artificial flavours, flavour enhancers, liberal spadefulls of salt and sugar, etc. The only thing you are now capable of tasting are the bitter tannins of an stewed and spoiled mug.

The delicate floral tones of the bergamot in a finely blended earl grey are not for the likes of you. You will never appreciate the smokey aftertaste of a good lapsang souchong. You're better off with mountain dew.
