Great Olympics Aussies........

Hear, hear!

I have just come on the net to say what a great games Sydney has presented - start to finish.

Having seen it, I'm glad that England lost the bid - have you seen what our monkeys have done with the Dome?

"Good on yer" Aussies, terrrifffficcc, a games by which others will be measured!

TA I didn't mind watching it either!

Melbourne would have done it better...

Hey Chef tell me what you thought of the Giant Toilet Paper Doll Holders (LOL).

I thought it was great too and I had a ball singing along to all the songs.

I say Congrats to all the wonderful Volunters, without them they would have been the same as anywhere else in the world.

Well done Sydney :D

The Games seemed to be very well run and it looked like everyone (fans anyway) was having the time of their lives. Congratulations on a good show for a difficult task! :D

Friends of mine were down under for three days,,, according to them it was the most cordial, helpful, and over all polite group of people anywhere in the world,,, not only the folks attached to the olympics, but the ordinary citizens as well.

While I HATED NBC's coverage,,, I simply enjoyed the various sports and the overall good spirit displayed by the atheletes. There were some immature antics and attitudes to be seen, most notably the taunting high jinks by the 4 Americans that won the track and field relay,,, I saw young teens behave better than that. And the Russian gymnastics team when they ripped the silver medals from their necks just after the awards ceremony,,, whew,,, just wanted to scream at them!!

The theme for the opening ceremony was perfect,,, didn't see the closing one ( makes me all teary eyed ya know ) but I understand it was awesome.

All in all though, I'd have to say 'GOOD JOB!!' Aussies.

Theory

I believe the entire Sydney Olympics was nothing but a transparent ploy to reunite the band Men At Work.
And damn, but that Paul Hogan can dance!

Ditto. Some friends of mine were there for the first week of the Olympics and had similar comments when they got back. The pictures they took were awesome, too - beautiful country.

And what about Greg Norman , you pay good money to watch the ceremony and some idiot start's hitting golf balls into the crowd..... FOUR....:(

Apart from that and the quagmire horse jumping it's been a joy to watch . Congratulations and cheers to Sydney and Australia.

The best part of the closing ceremonies for me was Kylie Minogue in her tarty dance-hall dress singing ABBA's" dancing Queen". I know some guys who really got off onthat.I have to admit she did look delicious.

I enjoyed the comments of....

Mitch Albom. He brought me the true meaning of the games. Mitch is one of Detroit's treasures.
