Great Minds Think Alike

Speaking about (even though not entirely related to) creationism.
From what I've seen online:

I'm a bit baffled by how polarized the US political/religious arena appear to be and to be going . You have so many "radicals" (be they conservatives, liberals, religious, atheists etc.). And (from youtube channels) a lot of them seem to be permanently at each others' throat, no middle ground.
Whereas in Au/Nz, discussions around politics and religion are much more moderate and tolerant of each others' view.

But I found the reverse to be true with the everyday, lay person: americans seem more liberal and australians- more conservative.

Strange.

We aren't polarized, actually. Few embrace Creationism. Such people have always been ridiculed for their untenable convictions. That said, I can make a convincing case in support of the Clay Hypothesis. Clay is a crystal, Dna is a crystal.

Most Americans are liberal in the sense that all of us want to be left alone to do our vices in peace. Most Americans are conservative in the sense that we want killers executed, want others to leave our money alone, and want no one to butt in line ahead of us.

Ben Carson is a Creationist. No Creationist can be described as a great mind, by definition.

He is a very smart man and a very good doctor but his views are so out there it really boggles the mind. How can someone so smart be so fucking dumb?

Thanks for that.
This thing L vs. R wingers (conservatives vs. liberals or whatever one wants to call it ) --. and whether people are polarized or on a continuum.
I'm quite interested in it & read around it, since I butt heads but also saw it too many times around me . In so many areas.

Hope you will be online (or, alternatively, anyone else interested in discussing) tomorrow as well.
