Grand Jury declined today to indict two police officers in the death of Tamir Rice, a 12-year-old boy who was shot dead by a police officer in November 2014 at a Cleveland playground.

Tamir was holding a Colt BB gun pistol that looked like a real 45 when he was shot. The bright neon orange plastic ring fixed to the barrel when it was sold had been painted black.

The cop said he "knew it was a gun and it was coming out" before he opened fire and repeatedly warned the boy to put his hands up, according to statements from the cop and his partner.

Where did 12 year Tamir get the BB gun, which can only be purchased by people 18 years of age or older. If a 3rd party bought it for him, or gave it to him, he should be tried for murder.

When I was a kid, my friends and I used to walk around our neighborhood (upstate NY) with cap guns and when we were a little older, BB rifles, as a matter or course. No one thought a thing about it.

No surprise. The Prosecutor has been actively guiding them in that direction. Same as the Eric Garner case.

My brother and I had cap guns as kids.
When we received BB guns, we were allowed to walk around the neighborhood with impunity, until someone called the cops. Then they questioned the "dark boy" where he got the gun, where did he steal it. When they tried to take it away, neighbors who knew us stopped us. My parents were irate, some neighbors questioned why my brother, who was white skinned, blue eyed, and had light brown hair was allowed to keep his gun.

Yeah, even in the mid-70s cops and people feared non-whites with guns, even toy ones.

When I was about 5 I knew you did not point a bb gun at anyone You did not point a loaded cap gun close to some one as the sparks could hurt them. This was in preparation to when I was about 13 and did not own a gun so as my brothers and I rode the mountains and small ranching town I had nothing but the 22 revolver of my Father to carry . We earned our own money for bullets and we earned our own money to buy guns which I did buy a rifle after working in the bean and hay fields. The thing is we knew that you Listened to your elders whomever they were and you did not point any thing that looked like a gun at anyone. It is sad this boy was not taught anything but after 20 years in the military I can find no fault with his reactions. You give a legal order and you do not hesitate if it means your life or the lives of those you support.

This Prosecutor determined from the very beginning that there would be no charges. The whole process has been a sham and he has telegraphed his intentions several times. He should be charged with wasting public funds and malfeasance in office.

So you're blaming the victim, nice of you!

He was a FUCKING KID! Taught to handle a pretend gun? Are you fucking kidding me?

I have no words. This is the dystopia. We're all degraded by this decision.
