Wow--very cool :)

I've always thought fractal art was very beautiful, yet very alien at the same time :D

Happy New Year, by the way, Kcar--I hope your holidays were nice too :rose:

Hey E!

Good to see you in here! *BIG hug*

We had an awesome holiday...and you? And Happy New Year to you also!! ^_^

As I understand it, fractals are mathematically created.

Do you make these equations (hence the picture) yourself or are you just a connisieur who finds and saves these wonderful pictures? If you generate them yourself can you reveal some secrets so the rest of us can try our luck?

Welcome to the Lit site, naamplao. :rose:

Yes they are. I've researched Chaos Theory heavily in the last 11 yrs, and it's a wonderfully beautiful branch of mathematics and physics. Do you know anything about the science?

I have no idea how to create these. I work in ink washes and graphite, as well as some gouache, but nothing this unusual. My math skills are non-exsistent...I learn visually and conceptually very well, but cannot absorb data. ^_^

And yes! I have dozens of these saved to photbucket!

Here is a link for generating fractals...they can be made more and more complex as time goes on and you become more skilled. The formulas used are garnered from the living mathematics of nature...the web of life! *grins with pleasure*

This one is incomprehensible to me 0_0:

There are many more sites to choose from - I'll give you the Google link:

Good luck and let me know how you do!

I'm so glad to hear it! My holiday was fabulous--got to hang out with family a lot :D For one of my gifts this year, my husband got me a book of Luis Royo's art, (my new favorite artist!!). It's very cool--lots of great inspiration there :)

I'm almost done with my revisions on my current project so hopefully I'll pop up more often :)

But I digress: awesome fractals--I really love seeing them :)
Keep them coming :rose: It's good to see you, as always, Kcar :D

This looks as if the heavens were opening up :)

Beautiful isn't it? Clouds are also fractals. Their shape cannot be predicted, just as the weather can't be predicted...they are both so very complex.
