Republicans are becoming increasingly confident they'll be able to hand President Trump a bipartisan acquittal in his Senate impeachment trial.

With 67 votes needed to convict the president and remove him from office, and the outcome of a Senate trial all but guaranteed, GOP senators are broadening their sights as they plot their strategy.

Senate Republicans think they’ll be able to pick up one or two Democrats on the final votes for each impeachment article. That would let them tout Trump’s acquittal as bipartisan — an angle they’ve already seized on when talking about the two House votes, in which a handful of Democrats crossed the aisle to join Republicans in opposing impeachment.

Sens. Joe Manchin (W.Va.) and Doug Jones (Ala.) are viewed as the two Democrats most likely to potentially vote for acquitting Trump.

Wow, what a claim to fame and a great victory. I was impeached but escaped conviction by just a few votes!:D

The only GOP that would predict a bipartisan acquittal would be Trump's GOP which stands for "Grab Our Pussies."

This is just my prediction; I have no proof. A few Dem. senators will vote to acquit and a few GOP senators will vote to convict. Bottom line will be a majority voting to acquit. This is about what happened to Clinton, who was known to be guilty of perjury, which was a felony. Assuming it goes down this way, Trump will escape conviction by about 20 votes. About ten months later, he will be reelected to the office of POTUS.
