Economist Goolsbee takes hannity to task over stupid claims about the Biden economy
Hannity then asked the economist why Biden is "begging OPEC," adding, "Donald Trump didn't beg OPEC."

"He's not begging OPEC," Goolsbee replied. "He convinced OPEC, and OPEC is increasing their production."

Hannity insisted that OPEC keeps "rejecting" Biden.

"They didn't reject him," Goolsbee replied. "They said they're increasing production in the month of January. Why are you complaining about that, Sean? You're all over the map here. You were saying you didn't like to pay high gas prices. I told you gas prices went down and Biden convinced OPEC to increase production, and then you said, 'Why is he asking them to increase production?'"

I loved the part where Hannity said that American's are paying something like $5k more per year as a result of inflation. Goolsbee's reply was gold plated malarky when he said that the stimulous and job creation efforts by the Biden Admin is "a wash" with the $5k we're all paying more of.

As if people getting new jobs somehow means that people who already HAD a job but didn't get a wage hike, somehow means that those previously employed workers aren't paying more today than they were a year ago for the same stuff.


His entire narrative is politics based bullshit. And you dipshits believe it despite your own higher costs out of pocket. Worse, you think that's a good thing.

Not disagreeing with you other than to say that Hannity's show isn't "news" it's "opinion" and he's right up front with saying that.

That said, if people want to agree with his "opinion", there's nothing criminal in that.


OTOH, when social media and legacy media collude to suppress "news" by saying it's not true and it's part of a disinformation campaign by Russia so people rely on those statements as actual fact, that's called fraud. Which is a crime. As is defamation. Something the MSM seems to be fond of and passes along to you during their "news" programming.

You are right....it's an opinion show. Much like CNN from 7pm til 11pm. This is what folks like these days.... interpretation of news, stories, facts for them. Often, what fits into what they want to hear.

I do listen to Hannity, Carlson, many local am radio folks to make sure I actually hear what they are saying direo.from them....it can be difficult at times but worth it.

CNN openly bills itself as a "news" network, not an "opinion" channel. The shows from 7 to 11 have the same content as the shows earlier in the day, with the same guests and narratives.

They slant their "news" to fit their narrative and actively hide the incontrovertible facts which defeat their narrative. People are finally beginning to see what's been going on and that's what's been driving the loss of viewers and falling ratings.

Goolsby is an economics professor at the University of Chicago.

A lot of RWs classed Obama as LW, even though one of the first things he did was hire Chicago economics profs (including Goolsby), as his advisors. (Home-town loyalty, I suppose.)

Whether he's alum or staff still has ZERO effect on whether the school is or isn't politically leaning one way or the other and that people from the other side of the aisle can't/won't attend or teach there.

It's an ascription of assumed enlightenment, or bias, depending on point of view, and has no relationship to the subject matter at all.

The subject matter is Goolsbee's bias, and there's nothing yet in this thread to cast any doubt on his criticism of Hannity.
