Hey everybody; just to let you know. Snowy was horseback riding last Tuesday and took a pretty serious spill. We haven't seen her, as I'm actually out of town right now, but my sister's been into the hospital for us. Snowy's got a pretty serious concussion, a few broken ribs, and a cracked pelvis. There's also some damage to her left leg, but it's not broken. It looks like she wrenched the knee pretty badly when she fell, and she may have damaged the ligaments in the area. They won't know the extent of the damage for a few days yet. Her parents flew down to be with her. Her mum tells me as soon as the double vision clears they'll let her have some books and a laptop to play with.

Yes, of course. Consider it done, mariposa... And, thank you for sharing the info with us.
When you can .. please convey to her that we are rooting for her, look forward to hearing that she is on her way toward reaching a complete and speedy recovery, & seeing her back here posting again ASAP.

i passed out when i was sixteen, banged my head on a stone tiled floor receiving a concussion and cracked my skull (i still have a dent in my head as a result).
Concussions are terrible, in themselves ... adding other injuries to it is a whole new definition of suffering.

mariposa? If you have a snail mail available for getting cards and 'get well' wishes sent to Snowy ... i would certainly appreciate it if you could PM it to me? Thanks again.

Never had a concussion. The double vision thing doesn't sound like a lot of fun. I have had a cracked rib once. Anything that involves your ribs hurts. I hope she's up and around very soon.

She will definitely be in my thoughts and prayers. I'm glad that her parents were able to go down and be with her at least, that has to be a big source of comfort to her and keep her from being so lonely. Hopefully the double vision and stuff will go away quickly, that has to be just as miserable as the pain.

I'm sending Snowy all my good vibes, prayers and wishes for a speedy recovery...in a pinch i can send a cat to sleep on her chest (lightly, of course, DVS) as they are excellent healers...and a cat will NEVER steal cookies.

i was thinking 'along that idea' ... kind of ........
BUT ... i was more toward, "... hospitals have nice gadgets. Her leg is injured, hmm .... if they use a wartenburg wheel, and leave it sitting around for long .... i hope she can see clearly enough to slip it into her bag.". Stuff like that ...... Ok, ok .... so it's stealing. But, i know all about that saying of, "possession is 9 tenths of the law".... so it's ok, right?!!??
