Good news!!!

Indeed, although not just any type of social activity. It doesn't correlate fully to just being physically in the proximity of people.

You can feel v. lonely in a relationship or in a group if there's no connection.

That makes you more of a herd animal than a social one. Wallflowers at a dance are not socializing. It is more than just being around one other person or crowd you don't connect with.

How strange.
I have an Aunt who has been alone for 60+ years. She doesn't socialise and does no activities with other people. Has no children and lives alone in a farmhouse just outside Graz (Austria).
Her fave activities are walking in the forest, painting, and photography.
I have only met her once as she doesn't like visitors.
She has just turned 90.

Seems to me, her low-stress, lonely life is helping her live longer!

She's probably communing happily with the trees. She has company. Lots of them. That don't really say much. Just listen.
