Lance's Lounge

A place to come when you just have to get down and dirty with someone and have some fun. Be as explicit or subtle as you wish. Always remember, what happens in the lounge, stays in the lounge;)

Hi everyone, beautiful day here in Ontario. Leaves are just getting to the turning point and it's time for a country drive. Hot apple cider is warming and have plenty to go around. Hi to Freefall MC, haven't seen you here in a while girl. Hope all is well and look forward to seeing you soon. DripHoney, you sexy thing, I'll have that present for you tonight, so look in your Email for it. Stella, thanks again for being the great person you are. You've helped me so much since I started posting here. Safe-Bet, you're another darling girl who I haven't said Hi to in a while. Hope we can chat for a bit soon. Okay, have a great one gang and see you tomorrow.:)

At my age? Upright and breathing is all I ask for, these days. It's still hot in LaLa Land but the nights are starting to get cooler. I've got so much red pasta sauce put away I may not even bother to plant the tomatoes next year.

This is the best time of year in Canada, I think. The fish are hungry, the deer, moose and black bear are fat and the geese are getting restless. Ah, to be retired and able to go when and where I please!

Morning? Well, it's morning somewhere! :D Hi Lance. Canada? Have you broken out the parkas yet? (Okay, okay, just kidding, well, jealous, actually. Real authentic, unpasturized apple cider is an unknown treat in these parts, and truly beautiful fall color is something I haven't seen in years.)

Let me go off and whimper and sniffle on my own . . .

I'll send you a bottle of the good stuff darlin' along with some nice colourful leaves. And don't go off on your own, come here and let me give you a nice hug

Well, it's another Monday morning, a bit overcast, but warm. I want to send a long distance hello to my lovely girl Di , who's away for a bit. Hoping my dear friend MC is doing well and want to let her know I still miss her. Thanks for the fun in the thread girls, (Safe-Bet, Stella and Sarah). James, it's nice to see you posting readable comments, have a great day, and hey, I got no Poo. Honey, my sweet girl, I think I got the damn cam to puter thing figured out, so it'll come today, sorry. For all you hard working stiffs in the room who need a bit of cheering up,:D, it'll be over soon enough and you can get back home, safely.
Me, I got lawyers and doctors to attend to today and get closer to resolving the bullshit. Ciao4now,:heart:luv ya all.

A morning thread...like it Lance dear. A new place for me to toss early am rubble posts while I get ready for work. So thoughtful of you.
Good evening to you all, and if I'm gonna be the only am poster in the future, I am so not making a whole pot of coffee to share! Did I mention I bake a mean apricot brandy coffee cake?

Been slacking lately on threads, yes. But like many, trying to capture the last remaining summer days before the leaves begin to change.
At the same time, anxious for the cooler morning breezes, the almost daily color changes in the landscapes, the bustle of critters hurrying to stock up for winter, and OCTOBERFEST (where's the brew?).

And of course, time to reap the benefits of neighborhood harvests: homemade apple pies, dehydrated cinnamon apple slices, elderberry jam; mmmm yum. I do enjoy the pressed apple juice Lance, you can really tell the difference absent all the sugars/syrup added, and love spiced cider. Be sure and pass me a hot mug when the first rainy morning blows in.

Neighborhood harvests? Sunday I picked 20 pounds of tomatoes. Have you any idea how much that is? Three gallons of juice to cook down into red sauce. I may not have to plant any at all next year. Shoot, I've already done three gallons before now. . .

does this mean we're getting some homemade sauce and juice?
Dianthus and i want to start a recipe thread, interested in sharing some, Bear?

Is it morning already?!

Boy, you guys have get an early start!

Think I could get used to this kind of morning. :D Here, let me run and put my pj's on.

Lance, darling. I needed sangria last May, and several nice folks around here helped me out with recipes. It's our second favorite topic. Sex, then food. Well, not always in that order. Oh, and sweetie, I think your message got lost in the mail. But that's okay.

20# of tomatoes? ROFL...you must have been up to your furry ass in sauce by the days' end. :D How many days did it take you?
He'll never miss a few pints Lance...just sneak into his den in a few months while he's passed out; perhaps from the cider.

I am giving some thought to shipping some to Chicago in March. As to recipes, I gotta milyunovem! What are you up for?

The pot is still simmering on the stove. I'll be canning tomorrow. By then the sauce should be really thick. Today I ran three bell peppers, an onion and four red jalapeno's through the food processor and dumped them into the sauce. I'll adjust the seasoning tomorrow.

Hey Bear, Dianthus and I wanted to start a recipe thread and share some treats with everyone. We thought if we said what it was and a recipe to cook it, we could end up with some really nice cookbooks for everyone. Whadiya think?

The house must smell tantalizing.
Having a sudden urge to bake fresh bread; hum...maybe this weekend. Think I'll cheat and use prepared frozen dough.

Ok Hon, make sure it's the PJ's with the flap at the back, and then come join me for some Sangria in my bed.

Do bears share secret family recipes? Yogi couldn't even share a picnic basket.

Okay, I'll get a jump on the morning crowd, I just started a thread for food lovers. It's called the AH Recipe Book. Tell us your fave recipes and how to make them. We'll have one of the best cookbooks around.

Do bears share secret family recipes? Yogi couldn't even share a picnic basket.

Uncle Yogi was a cheapskate. Given all the money he made in Hollywood, you'd think he'd have shared a little with the rest of the workin' bears. Not a chance. Now my Uncle Baloo was a bear who understood that a good time was for sharing. He'd roll out a barrel of mead and pop the bung. Phew! Did we party!

Anyway, if you head for the lake and come back with a mess of bluegill, try this.

I cobbled this out of a basic recipe for freshwater panfish that I found in an American fish cookbook. The original was quite unimaginative so I decided it needed help. This is better . . . a lot better!

Improved Fish Chowder

4 slices extra thick bacon, cut up
1 lb. baby potatoes, whole
½ large onion, chopped
1 garlic clove, minced
2 cups stock
½ cup chopped baby carrots
¼ cup chopped cilantro
Juice of ½ fresh lime
½ tsp dried dill
1/8 tsp. anise seed
1cup whipping cream (or canned coconut milk!)
1 lb. white fish fillets, cubed

in a 3-quart saucepan or kettle, cook bacon until browned, stirring occasionally. Remove bacon from pan and sauté onion in bacon fat until soft. Sauté garlic 15 seconds and add stock, potatoes, carrots, cilantro, lime juice, dill and anise seed. Bring to boil and simmer 20 minutes. Blend in cream, add catfish cubes and simmer 3 minutes until the fish is cooked. Serve with hot French bread and green salad. Either beer or a Riesling would go good with this.

Sounds great Bear, don't get mad, but can you do it again in the thread I just started? Please
