What are some good apps for texting and voice/phone fun that you all use? I’m interested in those that allow anonymity to keep your play world separate from real world.

I use Skype and Google Voice and those seem to have wide use. I used to use KIK but not as much anymore, that one seems to have fallen.

I’m interested to learn what other Lit users use to continue the fun off the message boards!

My preferred app for privacy is Signal. According to their website: "State-of-the-art end-to-end encryption (powered by the open source Signal Protocol) keeps your conversations secure. We can't read your messages or listen to your calls, and no one else can either. Privacy isn’t an optional mode — it’s just the way that Signal works. Every message, every call, every time."
It's my choice rather than letting Faceb**k or G**gle have free access to every pic, text, or voice recording. And it's "cross-platform", so it will work on iPhone, Android, and PC (regardless of OS).

I've used signal - but it exposes your phone number, wickr used to be a good / free option, telegram can be alright. The latest one I've been using is session. Overall though - It really depends on what works for her tbh.

Whereby.com is an online messaging portal that you don't even need to download, so nothing on your phone or computer!! Excellent for no one finding anything on your phone or computer and totally private, text, voice, video chats!

SnapChat is the gold standard . It deletes messages either immediately or after 24 hours, it tells you if your pics have been saved or your conversation screenshotted, and it doesn't require a phone number.

Do not use Signal. It can easily be circumvented to have your activity monitored by the other party. Do not use WhatsApp.
WhatsApp says that it’s end-to end encrypted and says that it’s secure. What’s the problem with WhatsApp that you know of?

Snapchat is alright.
I use session and kik as well. Kik doesnt erase or anything. But it's super easy to use.
Session is kinda a nightmare but since wickr is shutting down other options must be used.

I don’t. A guy from here did it to me. He was a coder. He’d get alerted any time I opened the app.
Signal will notify people who have been connected to you previously and have added you to their contact list. If you block that user, Signal should stop the notifications on that user's phone. At least, that's what I could glean from the Signal support page.
