So I've got some Fantastic Anime to watch. I promise I will be. Thanks again everyone. So just so I'm straight...hentai is x-rated anime ( I haven't found one that doesn't have genitals blurred out though?) Do they make that or is that just part of the style? Then... Manga is graphic novel style 'anime'. What else do I need to know?

Definitely. Bleach is cool but imo there's more style than substance there.

Naruto particularly once you get into Shippuden and the Pain Saga is an outstanding and deep story about war and hatred and what it does to people and countries.

Agreed, but I think you shouldn't be too quick to dismiss the pre-Shippuden arcs, which are good too even if the art is not as good (and the title character is more annoying). My favourite is the chuunin exam arc, that was when the series really came into its own, and it's a lot further right on the idealism/cynicism scale than the later arcs like the Pain arc, which suits my taste well.

Death Note is good until about midway point (in the manga anyway, probably three-quarter way in in the anime) where that thing happens. What came after felt like a sequel - good, but nowhere as good as the 'original'.

The blurred out genitals is because Japan has laws against showing uncensored genitals (Japanese porn has blurred out genitals too), but my sense of it is that it's not strictly enforced - I've seen tiny black bars that barely cover a fraction of the genitals they were supposed to hide.

There's generally a distinction between normal anime and hentai - there are normal anime where you actually see people having sex (like Gantz) but it's rare. Or at least, I haven't seen much.

And yes, manga is basically serialized comic-books, though most of them tend to be uncoloured.

He could easily have raped everybody everywhere all at the same time however he thought it would be funnier to see them kill themselves.

Naruto particularly once you get into Shippuden and the Pain Saga is an outstanding and deep story about war and hatred and what it does to people and countries.

I liked the live action Death Notes too. In a rare case for me I like the manga better than the anime if for no other reason than it takes the extra second to hold me by the hand when it's explaining some of the bullshit. That whole Ryuk let me hold your book, now take her book, now she'll hold mine, now give me hers, now take her memory, now give it back. In the anime I stopped trying to understand and simply accepted that Light was smarter than me.

I watched 3 episodes of sekirei--cheesy. but did enjoy the boobs, but really cheesy and disjointed. enjoyable but 5 out of 10. What's better? similar? with boobs? Good story though. Also, give it the 6-episode rule. If you only watch 1 episode, it dosen't give you enough time to judge. Usually first episodes are info-packed; to get you into the story but leave enough mystery.

The way I judge is if it doesn't pick up after episode 6, it's crap.

I didn't like that queensblade was confusing and hard to follow even into episode 2 and that witchblade didn't make sense in that the prisoner turned into robot. She wasn't wearing anything in the American comic!) isn't something you watch because it has a great story or fantastic action. You watch it for the tits.

Now be good and quiet before I start trying replicate scenes from Urodit. . .Urotidos. . .from Legend of the Overfiend with you. If you behave you can just cosplay B-Ko for me and I'll be nice and gentle with you.

No no we care, that's why we're still posting. But I stand by my earlier recomendation of Death Note first and formost. That one is pretty much quality from episode one, it's not big on the tits and it's not action but it's rock solid.

Witchblade Episode 2 and Desert Punk

Desert Punk -had some really great "moments" of animation that didn't last long enough. It had potential but degraded into silliness and stupidity. Unwatchable. 1.5 out of 10

WitchBlade Episode 2. Light on action and boobs but did make sense and drew me in. I think I may be able to watch more episodes. 5 out of 10 although I think the overall series rating will be much higher as it goes on.

That's it for now. haven't had time to watch a full length movie or more episodes of anything else yet.

Which Queen's Blade did you start off with it? @_@ I find with QB, it's mostly Tits and Fighting. The Animation is good as well, but the story is kind of lame. I'll admit that.

As for Witchblade.. it does unfold. It takes a few episodes; but there is definitely a story!! I ended up liking this anime so much that I actually bought the boxset! (and I'm extremely picky when it comes to buying!)

As for all of the above, I really push Mnemosyne. Rin is a very kick-ass character and one of my top 5 all-time favorite female leads.

I disagree with you on that, Sean. Witchblade had an actual GOOD story, IMO. I'm not saying that you're wrong. To each their own, I suppose

Sure all the ones youc an name off the top of your head go past one hundred but that's in large part to them being reaks and legends. You gotta give the story a chance to start and one episode no matter how terrible will not give you an accurate feel.
