Decades ago, I visited my parents and said to my father, "Dad, there is something
that I would like to discuss just between you and me. You know, a man-to-man
conversation. Can we do that?'
Father replies, "Sure. Go ahead."
[One week later]
Mother says, "Sit down. I want to talk about what you said to your father the
other day."
[Today]
On the other hand, you can disregard what I said because young people don't
have parents that live together anymore. They are either raised by the father,
or the mother, but not both. The parents married at an early age, had one child,
then got divorced. Television shows like "Leave it to Beaver" and "The Adventures
of Ozzie and Harriet" are a thing of the past.
