I've read about this several times, latest being in a book, which refers to 'gay guys nailing each others gonads to a board'. Is this just an urban myth, or has anyone heard of it really being done (or tried it)? It sounds a bit extreme even for me!

Butterfly boards, when done right, are a treat to behold, and to experience. I consider it edge play and there are safety concerns that need it be addressed.

I think the OP is not referring to butterfly boards, actually, but to nailing. Yes, it does happen. It's not a gay thing, guys of all types do it. Are you talking about into your testicle or into your scrotum? Remember, nailing is done into the scrotum, the loose skin around your balls, not into the balls themselves. There are some guys who poke stuff into the actual nuts themselves, but that is much more risky...very much so. Also, butterfly boards (aka breadboards) only use the loose skin of the scrotum and penis...not the actual balls or cock tissue themselves.

Perhaps, of course, what I've seen really refers to nailing the scrotum (like the picture in BME). Guess that wouldn't be too much of a challenge, cos I've not got too much sensation there. Also the nails are perhaps not what the general public imagines them to be. My first image whan I read this was a 6" nail right through the ball, which I would imagine might cause a bit of permanent damage (more so when the nail was extracted)!
