I'm off to my friend's wedding in Minneapolis this Wed. The wedding is on Saturday, but we'll be very busy.

The bachelorette party is on Thursday. The Groom's dinner and rehearsal on Friday and the wedding on Saturday. I return to Sweden on Tuesday.

Naturally not everything hasn't gone smooth. The dress that they ordered was late by a month! Then it took my damn seamstress almost a month to get off her but to actually shorten the skirt. Then it took her a week to loosen the top a bit (so I can actually breath), and it's taken her another bloody week to fix the straps. Finally I got really mad today and demanded the stuff back 10am on Mon.

Apart from this one of the bride's attendants and I have had to plan the hen party ourselves basically. It's kinda complicated as I'm in Sweden and she's in London! Also, I've never been to MN... We seem to have pulled it off, but we're still not sure if everyone will pay the amount we asked them too. I had to have a discussion with the attendant as we're sharing the extra costs for those not attending. And I'm already getting broke attending this wedding.

So, dress problems, seamstress problems and money problems. I hope I won't run into anything else. Oh yeah, and I still haven't got the invitation...lol

Apart from all this, I'm looking forward to the trip! My friend's getting married, I'll be the bridesmaid and it'll be great seeing her after two years. :nana: :nana:
Ok, so I will be broke after this trip, and I won't be able to breath in the top (corsette!), but we'll have a good time. And hopefully I'll be able to take some nice pics too. ;)

Is this your first time in the States? Can I try to frighten you with stories about how Minnesota is filled with crazed accordion-playing Norwegian beet farmers in hats with earflaps who will try and kidnap you and make you go ice fishing?

Actually, Minnesota is one of the sweetest states in the union. The people there are good to a fault.

Wave when you fly over Chicago. I'm the 628,543rd house from the left.

Typical

The day after you come back, I fly out. Admittedly, I'm going to OK and TX, but still!

Dr. M,
I'll definitely wave when I fly over Chicago. I'll even blow you a kiss.

It's not my first time in the states (I have relatives over there and been to some other places), but it's my first time in MN. Oooh, and it's my first time ever travelling to the States alone! Flying via Amsterdam (no, I won't buy them porn as a wedding gift).

Liar,
Yeah, Minnesota sounds like home. My friend who's flying in to the wedding from Texas said "think how popular you'll be at the wedding - they'll have a live Swede there!" LOL
