Go tell it on the mountain, over the hills and everywhere; Go tell it on the mountain that Jesus Christ is born!

I love the music of Christmas! Tonight we had a candlelight service at church and we sang a good number of my favorite Christmas hymns. "Go tell it on the mountain" struck me as the perfect title of a thread to celebrate the arrival of Christmas Day.

I spent Christmas Eve with my family, first in church celebrating the true meaning of Christmas, and then at my parents' house watching all the nieces and nephew go nuts. I love the chaos of children screaming and paper flying everywhere! Even the music of the Barney Banjo (although my sister-in-law is going to kill me.) Each of the kids got things that they really really wanted, and they all had huge smiles on their faces. It has been a wonderful day for me, with more of the same scheduled for tomorrow.

And now that it is midnight here, and Christmas Day has arrived, to all of you Christians on the board who are celebrating the real meaning of the holiday, I wish a truly blessed Christmas. Go tell it on the mountain that Jesus Christ is born! Or maybe, go tell it on a bulletin board. Merry Christmas!

ABSOBLUTELY

Go tell it on the mountain is so much my favorite that it was the recessional at our wedding (we were married on the fifth day of Christmas). As much fun as the chaos of small children opening their treasures is, there is also something very special about observing them as adults. How all that excitment is still there, but now it is focused on giving pleasure to others. I couldn't help but thank God that He had blessed us with such wonderfull kids to be parents of.

It has been a wonderful Christmas, as we watched the ancient saga recreated, and rekindle the love in our hearts. Merry Christmas to all .
