Yanno, the giant squid that show up here in SoCal when the water is warm drive divers out of the water faster than great white sharks. The Japanese version must be remarkably easy-going. The Baja California version are known as devil fish . . . for very good reasons! They try and eat you if they catch you in the water and a 200 lb. squid will drag you to the bottom so fast you won't even have time to drown before the pressure crushes you.
