Does anyone know of an online forum (or email ring or whatever) which is focused on GLBT roleplay? And I'm looking for one where people regularly start their own original roleplays, not one for a specific fandom. Basically the SRP board here but gay lol.

I don't know of one unfortunately. But we have the GLBT Personals subsection of the Personals forum, why not PM Laurel and ask for a GLBT subsection of SRP?

I didn't realise the srp here wasn't for gay rps - I'm currently doing one with no problems . . .

Really? I never see any starting, and when I join a general RP and state that my character is gay I never get any response from other players with male characters. :(

Not sure on the etiquette here - but Destination Unknown is the srp I'm currently doing.

To be fair my co-writer and I did get together to run it as a closed thread before we started, and it's my first time doing an srp. Maybe it's different starting one without a co-writer lined up.

Occasionally you will see a bi or gay srp on the forum. It's is rare. I've been involved in a few of them as I enjoy that type of role play. There is nothing said, but it does feel like an unspoken rule that gay srp is not popular. I'd say you should post the thread "Thread that needs players" with your premise for a srp. She what comes of that. I do also agree, if there was a srp forum on the glbt forum, it would be great.

Maybe the SRP forum just needs more LGBT threads to get more participation from people who are interested in that type of play. It seems like when there are a lot of similar threads, more and more pop up and more interest is generated. It can take time, but with perseverance, I bet you'd get plenty of people interested in this type of roleplay.

Since it seems like a good portion of Litsters identify as GLBT (or 'straight but curious'), it follows that a lot of SRPers identify that way, too. Maybe many of them are just waiting for someone else to start threads they're interested in.
