There are many gay and bisexual men and women out there who serve on the Police Force of the USA. Why are they hardly ever mentioned ? Last time I went to get my book printed, I talked to a man who was a member of the Gay Officers Action League. His name was Bill and he was really nice. I think they should get some recognition. I applaud them.

i stand next to you and salute our brothers in blue. being a police officer has stigma enough, to be gay on the force is not just commendable, it's wonderful! thank you so much!

I just read in a news article a week or so ago that the Los Angeles police department had sent recruiters to the Gay Games.

It's a remarkable sign of how much the times are changing.

The lesbians seem to be quite underrepresented, at least if their webpage is any indication.

hats off. has anyone heard of a similar org for firefighters? there are very few females in our prof. with a significant percentage of them lesbian. they are accepted well by their male counterparts. i cannot, however, think of a single example of an openly gay or bi male in any of the dept's with which i am familiar. i think the fd is way more homophobic than the pd.

Trust me when I tell you that there are many lesbian cops out there. That's what a buddy of mine told me. Of course, he got pulled over for speeding and couldn't charm his way out of a ticket given to him by a female police officer whom he said looked like a man with tits. Oh, well.
My friend is straight, by the way.

I once had a thing with a married female police sergeant. She was married to a city councilman, I might had. Yeah, I slept with people in high places, back in those days. Now, I'm dating a frat boy.

Why don't cops talk about being gay? Well think about it-Law Enforcement, a field I work in, is a pretty macho, and at times, in places pretty aggressively anti-homosexual/GLBT.

There almost certainly many GLBT working in the field, but for their safety they likely don't advertise much about their personal lives at work.

I know at my job admitting I was bisexual could get me hurt and bad. Not to mentioned fired, and humiliated. It's not that I am uncomfortable with my sexuality, but rather I don't trust the people I work with and for with my personal life, let alone my sex life.

Here, here! :D

For a good one involving playing a cop (with real cop in tow), see Erotique, film with 4 shorts done by/for women, first one by Lizzie Borden and Susie Bright...
