girls with tattoos... how much is too much?

so... i have one back piece of a hand of miriam, which is a jewish talisman. I also have two stylized butterflies sitting low on my hips. I'd like to get some more... but I'm worried that it's going to be too much.

what do you guys think? I'm fairly sure most everyone likes a tattoo or two... if you don't, then I just don't know how much you and I have in common. but at what point is it starting to be too much?

I was thinking I would get something on my lower back (tramp stamp. I know. stop judging me ;) )... or else my ankle. i would REALLY like to do something on my forearm, but I'm pretty sure that once I start there, I'm going to wind up doing my whole arm.

what do you think would be appropriate?

I think it all depends on your lot in life. I have tattoos but none are visible when I am at work. They can't be. Therefore I will ever have a tattoo that can't be easily covered. I love tattoos and I think they are sexy as hell but the fact remains that they are still something that people will use when they form a first impression of you.

I agree with Eliza and I also think they need to be well thought out for your body, skin type, and personality. Every tattoo should be beautiful to you.

That's always going to depend on who you ask.

I have tattoos but also where they are not visible and only 2 (at this point) but I'm not a fan of women covered in tattoos so I wont go hog wild.

I think it's all about how tasteful they are. I have one that can be hidden if I so choose. I also have cover up if I need to go without it showing.

"less is more"

I agree with the above quote. While I don't have any tattoos, I find that they can be quite sexy, if tastefully done. Of course, that's open to interpretation, isn't it? How do you define tasteful?

I also ascribe to the "less is more" principle. The idea of having one on your lower back, just above the buttocks is erotic, especially for any guy staring at your ass, when you're wearing low cut pants or a bathing suit. :p You might also think of having one done just above the Mons Veneris, something like "My Daddy Will Kill You." ;) Just kidding, just kidding.

Luckily virtually any non-face tattoo can be hidden if desired. I have a small number of tattoos on my lower arms and most people don't know I have them.

But to answer the question, and this might just be me, whatever you want is appropriate, I don't think there's a too much. I have been with girls with no tattoos, with two full sleeves, with leg tattoos. None of it really makes a difference to me although I do like them.

I can unequivocally say that tramp stamps are definitely not "erotic" to me as was said. Moreso, the dislike comes from the fact that they're usually just random tattoos that have no meaning, and go from "Eh" to "Terrible Tribal tattoo." The later of which just being awful.

depends on the mood I'm in a suppose.

some women can seem to pull off more tattoos then others.

kinda like piercings and certain hairstyles etc.

before I say anything, I should mention that I think it's awesome that so many women replied :)

oh, absolutely. I don't ever want to do anything just for the sake of doing it. I like to see people that do that, but it's just not me.

my absolute favorite is this guy that does videos on youtube, Casey Neistat. He just writes cool notes to himself in tattoos, and it is sexy as FUK.

I actually found this one on deviantart, and I'm not going to lie, it was tempting.

this is basically what I wanted to get... it's bouncing around the interent, but i think it's awesome:

although... looking for this picture, I found this one:

I already have my hand of miriam on my back, but I like the shape of that design much better. maybe I can use that one, and put it in the location of the first.

a simpler version might be the triforce that jessica chobot has on her wrist:

any other ideas?

these are all awesome

one is too many :(

then I guess I already have too many :(

my first ones were actually the butterflies on my hips... I had gotten dermal piercings there, and I loved how they looked, but it just wasn't really something you could keep forever, so I showed the tattoo guy a few pictures just for style, and let him do his think so that they accentuated the shape of my hips the same way the piercings did.

then I found out that this meant I couldn't be buried in a Jewish cemetery anymore, which made me think about my religion, so I decided to go with the hand of miriam.

From my experience, this is only really the case in an Orthodox cemetery (and my guess would be that you are not Orthodox). A conservative and definitely reform cemetery should have no problem.

So on the subject of other ideas, if you get this one. I would find that encredibly erotic and probably ask to have sex with you. None of those you posted bother me all that much, mostly because I am all about getting a Zelda-related tattoo. But I think you should just get a full sleeve, because that'd be pretty hot.

Sidenote: I am curious about how the tattoo accentuates your hips, mostly because I'm a big fan of hips and hip bones.

I don't know if there is a limit. I've found women with full sleeves to be hot. Maybe it's because I assume women who get multiple tats like that are wild sex kittens in the sack, which turns me on. I really think it depends on the girl, and how she carries herself. If she has a lot of confidence and takes pride in her looks and body, then tat on!

lol... no, I'm not orthodox... I'm definitely reform. although it's frowned on, so is eating bacon-wrapped scallops and that's my jam. still, it made me think of it.

weeeell... I don't plan to put any pics of me on lit for obvious reasons, but I can show you the source material, and you can arrive at your own conclusions.

I can't find any images of tattoos in quite the same spot, but these dermal piercings are in about the same spot as mine were.... my hipbones flare a little more than hers. though...

and this is more or less the style of tattoo I have on both hips. there's no upper butterfly, and they're not quite this big, but I'm sure you can imagine it :)

I have two tattoo's atm and I also have piercings. I can show my tattoo's or hide them if I so wish. If I could get away with it I'd have an arm sleeve, I absolutely love them. I agree with the comment that if you look after yourself and have pride in the way you look and take care of yourself they needn't look cheap, they can look goddamn beautiful. Roll on my next tattoo

Excessive tats look odd on anybody but I don't mind a few. I briefly dated a bird with two. One on her ankle and one on her tummy just above her, em, honey pot.

Certain woman look amazing covered...and some should stop half way there.

But...its their body and if they love it I will too ;)

While it may be very unsexy, a lot of the reform issues with tattoos are more cultural and come from the tattooing in the 1939-1945 range.

I've been with a few girls who have dermal piercings, and I do love the ones on the hips. Do you come with the boyshorts too? If your hipbones are anything like hers, I'm sure they look absolutely lovely.

I like the butterflies too, I can certainly imagine. :) So I am all for you having more tattoos. I guess we all have fetishes and you're just accentuating an area that is one of mine.

There is no 'too much' or 'too few'. Its her body, and she can decorate it any way she wishes.

One poorly done (misspelled, tacky, picked off the wall) tattoo will raise suspicion-if she let a derelict/unskilled person with an ink filled needle penetrate her skin, who knows what else has entered her body..

If she has a million it can add to her beauty, or detract from it; but it's her canvas not yours.

I dated a woman with a few tats. She had one on the back of her shoulder and one just above an ankle. All of them
tastefully and professionally done. That being said there IS such a thing as too much body art and poor placement.

yes... i think it's important to think out the placement and how it enhances your body FIRST, and then start thinking about design.

it is a false myth that if you have a tattoo you can't be buried in a jewish cemetary. totally false.
