Or could divert some of their aid towards cure and prevention?

Or is the leprosy partly caused by US nuclear tests?

I don't. If it wasn't for US and Allied forces they would never have been defeated nor their dangerous political philosophies consigned to history books.

But the US had responsibility from 1944 to 1986 and continues to this day to provide massive aid for the Marshall Islands. Surely some of that effort could have been used for health care and leprosy prevention?

Were cures for Leprosy available that long ago. From what I have read, it was incurable at one time.
