I just finished watching this movie. Is it just me, or this one of the best movies ever made?
Its the only movie I've ever seen that really got to me...
Especially near the end, when Swayze and Moore have their scene together, when Moore finally realizes that he's still with her, and he gives her the penny...

Damn good movie.

You're not alone.

Ghost is definitely on my Top 5 All-Time Best Movies list, for sure, along with The Gods Must Be Crazy and Bambi and... and...

I LOVE THAT MOVIE!!

I loved "Ghost"......I laughed, cried, laughed, and more
cried........I remember the summer it came out, and saw
it twice....once with my fellow CITs on a night off from
camp, and once after I got home with my then
boyfriend.....summer 1990......I still cry when the final
scenes occur.......someone pass me the Kleenex!!

Yes

I loved that movie too.
That is one movie that I have seen over and over again.

I bought the movie, I loved it so much. I believe that people that have passed do have the ability to watch over us, my Mom has given me lots of clues that she is watching over me.........God I miss her.............

I saw that movie once, when it was on TV. The black light forms that come from Hell to take people away scared the crap out of me. They were truly evil looking.

Name?

I feel bad because I can't remember the name of this new film, but I saw a review that called it "a Ghost for grown-ups."

(Don't you hate it when that happens?)

I enjoy watching "Ghost", but my favorite scenes are the Whoppie Goldberg ones (when he first starts "haunting" her; withdrawing the money; donating the check to charity!).

My scare came one day as I walked into the elevator in my apartment building to find myself alone with the bad "friend" of the film, Tony Goldwyn! (Fortunately, he's nothing like that off the screen!). Seems he was subletting one of the higher floor apartments during his stint in a Broadway show. We "met" a couple more times, and he certainly was a nice guy.

Well, its not 'new' but you may be thinking of Waking The Dead with Billy Crudup and Jennifer Connelly. Superior to Ghost in almost every way.

Give that Chan a cookie. (And when you're my age, anything after 1995 is a "new" movie.)

"Ghost" should not be compared with other ghost movies, or any other movie whose ambition is to be more than a groovy romance with FX. IT's perfectly fine for what it is. And Whoopi's funny.

What I can never figure out is how Ghosts can melt through walls, but are perfectly capable of standing on a floor without falling through to the basement.

I used to do college and club gigs with Rick Avilles (who played the killer), and it was cool to watch him in the flick. He was pretty frightening, but the scariest part of his performance for me was the big, curly wig he wore. Rick was (nearly) bald.

Whoopie Goldberg was HYSTERICAL and funny as hell in "Ghost".....she's
terrific!

Talk about a "small world"....bumping into Tony Goldwyn! I bet that
was really cool......but remembering him from the movie must've been
eerie....!

Another "small world" thing........that's funny that you knew
Rick Avilles.....he really was nearly bald in real life? I never
would have thought that........

It was pretty "surreal" (especially at 8am in the morning!).

A scarier event for me happened as I was attending a play. I entered the theatre, and automatically held the door open for the person behind me. I heard a deep voice thanking me, turned around and saw Anthony Hopkins taking the door from me!! This was right after "Silence of the Lambs", and I actually tripped ahead and almost fell on my face (it seems my legs kinda froze from the shock!).:D

I think I would have fallen flat on my face!

I would have fallen flat if that happened to me too!
Wow....Anthony Hopkins....you ran into him too? That is a
funny story you just told :)

On my flight back to NYC from LA (back in summer' 96) Jeff
Goldblum was on the *same* flight as me, and I passed him
as I was heading back into the coach section (he was in first
class seating, of course)! I think that is the closest I've ever
gotten to a celebrity.....

I liked "Ghost" fine when I first saw it - I think Whoopi salvaged the film for the most part. The "demons" dragging the bad guys "down" made me roll my eyess. However....

For those of you who liked "Ghost" - and for those of you who didn't...and pretty much everyone in between....I HIGHLY recommend "Truly, Madly, Deeply" - written and directed by Anthony Minghella, and starring Juliet Stevenson and Alan Rickman.

Same basic premise - dealing with the death of a loved one - but this film is about REALLY dealing with the death of a loved one...and not so much about hanging on (which is, I felt, what "Ghost" was about), but more about letting go.

Please do all of your hearts a favor and see this film, if you haven't already.
