Last weekend my youngest sister and I went on a lil mission. We went in search of some places of our youths. I was between the ages of 10yr and 15yr, she was 4yr - 9yr, when we lived in Tampa. It had been 15+ yrs since we moved away but I still had very vivid memories.

I went prepared for a challenge but, finding the locations were extremely simple. By chance, or fate?, the hotel we chose was less than 5 miles from the first place we lived. From there is was easy to find the other places.

My sister and I shared our very different memories we each had of the same events of our lives. We were amused to see how small everything seemed to be when our memories had marked them as being huge. Distances that were actually only a few blocks seemd like miles when we were kids.

As the years have flown by that time in my life became more surreal. Going back helped me realise how real it was and how far I have come.

If you ever get the chance, no matter how near or far, I suggest you go back to your childhood memories and touch a piece of your past. :)

Just recently, I decided to "walk to school" again and took a walk to my old primary school.

I left there nearly 20 years ago, but the route i took was the one i used to take and while there are alot of new buildings at the school, the memories were all there.

I must have stood around with the biggest dumbest grin on my face, but i loved every second of it.

I did a tour around the old neighborhood about a month ago. It's much the same, but the distances have all shrunk.

Great idea SK

I went back to the school that I moved away from 8 years ago! I found that so much had changed but I could still "see" it exactly how it was when I was there. I was able to show my little sister all the places I hung out and tell her all the stories of what me and my friends did where. It was very cool, but sad at the same time. Kind of like looking through your yearbook and remembering what used to be...
