Getting Along

1. I double posted so that the slower folks might have a better chance of understanding. You get it now?;)
Merry Christmas.

Tomorrow I'm going bush for a week or so, hopefully to shoot some camels.:)

I thought that the double post was a mistake.
Merry Christmas to you and yours
The Camel drivers union is not keen on your killing their rides. Expect trouble.

Transgender or just another cross dresser. Who knows for sure.

By the way, no one has received any pictures from you. Photoshop is harder than it looks.

1. I double posted so that the slower folks might have a better chance of understanding. You get it now?;)

2. I post here because I choose to and when it interests me.

3. If I have posted only five times I am still pretty confident that those few comments contained more original thought than your endlessly repetitive obsession with Scouries. Is that why you are here?:)

4. My main argument is that Laurel should exercise her 'editorial and proprietorial' rights, and include or exclude both people and content entirely as she sees fit. She doesn't, she shelters behind rules, and avoids taking executive/editorial decisions which are well within her ambit.

Laurel seems to be a pretty nice person but she won't get this rabble to behave until she acts decisively, in line with her best judgement - not rules, they are just an excuse for being pleasant but ineffective. And folks quibble about rules to fight back.

5. I observed that both you and Laurel used the mythical 'we' - the collective cop out. "We' do this, or, 'we' don't do that, is the invariable signature of people who in reality who end up doing precious little.

6. I note that in your post you chose to attack me rather than my argument, and that is absolutely fine - go for it, because to my mind you should be able to say what you damn well please, and only be answerable to the Editor/Boss: Laurel.

Merry Christmas.

Tomorrow I'm going bush for a week or so, hopefully to shoot some camels.:)

Sorry, it still don't fly. You come over here to fan the flames just like you used to do before the political crap was 86'd.

Four posts and three of those were stirring the shit.

What's to argue? You don't have a leg to stand on but have a decent holiday, in any case.

d?"

"Principles office, again, now."

In closing, much to your dismay, the people you named, none of which you like, are going to be banned.

?

Principles - Principal's - Back of the class LC

Just for clarity: I don't like SJP because I don't trust it at all.

I don't appreciate Pilot's rudeness, especially to the weaker and more naive, but I do respect his knowledge, especially on the technical aspects of editing and publishing. I suspect Pilot would take respect ahead of liking.

I haven't worked you out LC . A while back you occasionally displayed a wicked temper if another poster boxed you into a corner, but recently you seem to have got those outbursts sorted out. In addition you seem have a pretty enlightened attitude towards women, but you have (tho again not recently) expressed some pretty scary comment in respect of one particular female. I ask myself which is the real you. I dunno.

I don't know any of you enough to like or dislike greatly and promise not to be disappointed in your continued prescence, tho putting up with SJP might be a stretch.:D

I love auto correct.

Know what? I've never completely sorted myself out either and I'm not being funny.

I over heard two people talking about me once and they called me 'brilliantly broken" I've never heard it said better. Years ago I tested at the gifted level, but could never get out of my own way, the brain of a nerd in the mind of a crash and burn product of generations of bad behavior.

Under achiever and proud of it as Bart Simpson says.

The inmates run the asylum here and that is still about the best way to put it, but I agree on your point with Laurel because I think there are instances where the hammer should come down as an example, for instance no one can figure out how Freddie and SCouries were not banned for the Kitt debacle, that went far beyond a petty squabble.

It is what it is as they say.

That's funny and that's not what you told me last night when I was blowing you.

You said you loved me. You said you'd stick up for me and protect me. Now, I understand that you were willing to say anything just to cum in my mouth while playing with my big tits and fingering my hard nipples.

I thought you were special. I thought you were the one. I should have know you were like all of the others, only after one thing.

I'm telling your wife.

You are not engaging the argument Tx. Your choice, but generalized opinion is a bit feeble.

If I get a shot at an old bull camel I'll christen it Scouries first! That'd make a happy Christmas for you!

Oh, my God, you're such a liar!

You said if you got a shot an an old, bull camel, you'd christen it Susan.

You never even met Scouries but I did. We were friends. I was invited aboard her yacht.

I'm the only writer here that she invited to post on her thread and she gave me the keys to her kingdom while she was on vacation for two weeks in Belize.

You don't know anything about Scouries to hate her? How dare you?

Did you know she was French and born in Paris. Did you know her parents were exceedingly wealthy and that she moved to Monaco? Did you know Scouries was a billionaire?

Speaking of camels, did you know that she was a chain smoker who smoked four packs of camels a day?

She was 5'4" and very thin with blue/black short hair and big brown eyes. She looked like Coco Chanel. Because she was always laying out in the sun on the deck of her yacht, her skin was permanently tanned and felt like leather. When she wasn't walking around topless or naked, she always wore black, only black.

She moved to the states to start her world headquarters in Miami. Because she was so plain, she surrounded herself with beautiful people. Her live-in boyfriend was an American Indian named Bob. Bob was a lawyer who helped American Indians prove their tribal identity so that they could start a casino.

The only time Scouries smiled was when posting something on Literotica.

If you knew her, you'd like her.

Yes, pay no attention to the thousands of posts scouries refers to himself as Jim.

Freddie has now gone from lying about his gender to lying about other people's gender, coincidentally someone who has not posted here in quite a while.

Keep digging.

There are many thousands of authors with works on this site. All authors are important. No single author is "worth" more than others in our eyes.

The plain fact is that Scouries didn't break the rules enough to be banned. We don't ban people for being unpopular.

Scouries stopped posting because you all finally bored of him enough that you stopped giving him the attention he craved.

You people create your own trolls. You empower negativity and insults with your attention. And you can strip them of power by depriving them of your attention.

Once you all fully realize this - once you start giving the (far more deserving) intelligent witty funny constructive people and posts the same attention that you are willing to give "trolls" and negativity - then the AH will change. :rose:

This. Laurel's said it, Naoko's said it, I"ve said it, Amgrin's implied it. But people still don't seem to get it. So I'll say it about ten more times and maybe something will stick. I'll try to get increasingly poetic, just to keep in practice with my drama skills:

If everyone ignores X, X will go away. No one wants to type knowing that no one reads it. It's a wall no one can climb over.

If you respond to a Scouries or an SJP, they will keep posting, because you've invited them to, You've given them what they desperately crave, an audience. They're addicted to the interaction and they won't stop as long as they get it. If you really hate them, starve then. There's no defense against that.

I'm not a fan of the culture of victimization. But every time someone complains about X, they're effectively saying that X makes them uncomfortable and angry, and tacitly acknowledging X has the power to do that. They're actually playing the victim card, no matter how harsh and blustery they sound. In doing so, they enable X to continue. X does a fist pump every time anyone responds, no matter what the response is. You gave him that moment of joy. You're an enabler.

Take away the oxygen. Turn off the microphone. Walk away silently. And they wither, every single time.

"But I have too much anger and hate to stay quiet". That excuse works when you're three. It's not so compelling in anyone over eighteen.

"But his sins must be remembered and discussed forever!" Yeah, so you enjoy playing God and deciding what punishments should be. But if they keep coming back for more of your supposed-punishment, you're clearly not very good at playing the vengeful god. In fact it makes you look impotent. You have limp-dick hate on display. Try a little rigid silence.

"But I crave the interaction too!" Great, because there's nothing better for a forum than two co-dependent people practicing hate, right? Sure, some people will make you their soap opera and applaud each new act because they can't get enough drama in their own life, but that doesn't make you a hero.

Cut the cord. Starve the baby. Silence is powerful. Make an end.

Just as I'm merely responding to your post of ignorance, I was responding to Cold Diesel's post of ignorance in regards to Scouries.

Have you ever met the woman? I have. We were friends.

Now you may...fuck off!

And here I thought Scouries was just another alt or BFW and now that he has vested himself in the persona of SJP, he's too busy to be posting as Scouries.

Just a thought.

For the record, in my orginal post to this thread, I wasn't suggesting that more rules be added and people should be banned or otherwise reprimanded for violating them. I said "guidelines", meaning, some tips that all adults should take under consideration when making posts here. There's no need for additional moderator involvement beyond what already exists.

As demonstrated by the OP and Lovecraft, you don't have to like each other to get along. If they truly do bury the hatchet, I call this thread a win. Hopefully more will follow.

Nothing in that violates our rules.

Being an asshole is not against our rules.

For reference, here are our rules:

This concerns me a bit, however. When Mr. TxRad listed what he feels is grounds for banning this particular person, you more or less skimmed over the core of his argument - that attempting to deceive others during contests is wrong. I've seen a few of the alleged posts made by Scouries (I had to go several contest support threads back) and I gotta say, it's pretty convincing. What's stopping this person from taking someone's story they had submitted to him thinking it was for the real contest and not claiming it for his own here or elsewhere? Is this not the core of everyone's concerns with Scouries?

It's your site and your call, obviously. However, while your stance on freedom may be sound, there comes a time when you should cut problems short before they snowball into something far greater. Just some advice, for what it's worth.

If you really want to see what he was up to in full, dig up his bogus contest thread that was running for three or four years. Or if you really want a history lesson, go to the feedback forum and pull up his threads there.I'd tell you to pull up some of Bostonfictionwriters posts and threads but for some reason you can't get to them through his profile. It's all locked.

The dumb thing, I think, is that in all those years when Scouries was pretending to be part of the Web site, Laurel never came on to simply post that he was full of shit. That's all it would have taken. Once in a whole bunch of years. But it never happened. All that time she was playing games with the folks on the GB, most of whom are drones and don't seem to know this is a story site, so it's not like she had a policy of not posting to the forum herself. The explanation that some give is that the Web site wanted him here to attract forum participation--that he was good for their bottom line.

That doesn't make a whole lot of sense. How does making posts about fake contests attract forum participation when there's a support thread for every contest full of authors encouraging others? It's a drop in the bucket at best and malicious at worst.

Controversy and watching someone get skinned are the very bedrock of Internet discussion board participation. The Web site's value is based largely on participation.

I thought it was the forum that we were discussing.

But, OK, perhaps you have a theory on how Scouries could have gone a decade writing elaborate posts about being part of the Web site and having a sanctioned series of contests and "best-seller" lists (with him on top) and Laurel didn't just simply come on the board in all those years and call him on the lie--not a single time that I can recall.

And don't say no one was fooled, because posters constantly revealed they were taken in by his nonsense.

My mistake. Just responding to what you said the website's value is based on participation. I thought it was more based off the particapation of readers and writers, of whom only a fraction are forum members.

So, which one is Freddie?

And here's a blast from the past, seems Freddie had a bug up his butt about something I said. I never responded to him, so I must have had him on ignore back then...or wait that was around the time I was in the process of moving to Texas. Oh well, nothing missed.

A birdie told me that some troublemaker is putting his nose where it doesn't belong.

Just for the record, my BostonFictionWriter records are sealed by court order.

No one can see them unless ordered by a judge.

Long story short, the FBI sealed them when they moved me to Pennsylvania and put me in the witness protection program for the testimony that I gave against my husband and against the mob.

In the meantime, you may ask me any questions as long as I don't have to answer any of them (lol).
