I'm going back to school to finally get my bachelor's degree. This year marks my 30th year from graduating high school. I did done college, but decided to get married and have kids. I did college on and off but never got my degree. Now my kids are almost out of the house and I'm single so I decided why not finally do this. I have about a year left, hopefully just 4 semesters, which will include summer session.

Congratulations on going back to school. I did the same thing after putting 3 through college. I definitely enjoyed it more than when I was younger.

Thank you!! I know it will be worth in the end. Just terrifying taking that first step. I haven't done school work since 2005 and things have changed so much.

Thank you!! I have one in college now and my youngest is a jr in high school. I should hopefully be done when she graduates high school unless I find i like it so much and continue. Lol

Ha!! I've been waiting for those donuts for a very long time!

Real life story time.... So cleaning out the fridge because we needed to take inventory of the science projects we had going on and I come across these two lovely items. I look at my kid and said really?? You couldn't have just drank that last bit up. She shrugged and said well I was full. I just stood there and shook my head.

Then I went to change my clothes and tried to take some new pics. That wasn't fun! Didn't take a single one that I liked. Definitely need to get more active. But here's one that's kind of ok.

She plopped herself on the couch; he looked up from his newspaper. He grabbed his glass of water and continued to watch her.

"Can I be candid with you?" she said.

"Of course," he replied.

"I like you. I know you are smart, sometimes funny, and have a very odd sense of humor. I know I don't speak your language of euphemisms and what not. But I certainly know how to be a smart ass and get myself into trouble with my mouth." she stops and chuckles to herself.

He puts the newspaper on the edge of the couch and takes a drink of water.

She inhales and continues, "I really enjoy what conversations we have in passing. The times our paths cross. I know you don't let many people in, and I understand that. I want you to know that I'm not looking for anything more than just friendship with you. We are polar opposites of each other. I'm definitely," she paused, "not your type."

He sat there and looked at her as he rubbed his chin.

She got up from the couch and walked over to the kitchen. "Thanks for letting me say this. I'm going to make those chocolate chip cookies you like so well."

He raised his one eyebrow. "You need any help?" he asked.

She tossed the bag of milk chocolate chips at him. "If you promise to keep your shirt on."

He rolled his eyes at her and got up from the couch.

He made his way to the kitchen and set down the glass of water and tossed the bag of chips on the counter.

"You know the only reason you want my help is because I know the recipe by heart."

She laughed. He rather enjoyed it when she laughed. Even though she could be annoying as hell.

"Oh don't be silly! I'd rather just talk baseball with you while I bake."

" Shit," he said. " There's no way in hell that you want to talk baseball. You dislike the sport."

She laughed. " I'm that transparent, huh?"

She went about mixing up the cookie dough while making a bit of a mess in the process.

"Why don't you put on some music. Let me guess some grunge/punk? No some jazz? Ohh yes Kenny G right?"

With that he grabbed some flour and flung it at her. It was like snow coming down. In her hair, down her shoulders, front of her shirt. She stood there, shocked.

"Well I did say you had to keep your shirt on but nothing about mine." she said as you took her shirt off.

Well science is cool but yeah let's throw that out, kids sometimes .on the other hand the outfit looks good on you. I'm forever going through our fridge I'm the human Garbage disposal always trying to make room.

I do have to give her credit - at least it wasn't empty....now her sister was the queen of doing that.

I know how very thoughtful of her!! I do enjoy every moment I have with her....before I know it Fall of 2021 will be here and she will be off to college.
