I think so, but one of the more memorable weather related kisses I've experienced was during a light snowfall with a man I had just started seeing. It was late January or early February and we were walking up to a Chinese restaurant to pick up dinner. It was evening and a delicate snow started to fall. He suddenly stopped walking and spontaneously turned to me and gave me the sweetest kiss. I always think back on that memory fondly.

I didn't have trouble sleeping in the sleeper car from New York to New Orleans. Met an old dude who wrote a book on alien abductions, too. I bought the book because he was a super sweet guy. Never read it, though.

The one thing I had trouble with was walking frim our room to the dining car. That's where the swaying got me. I fell and when my husband tried to help me up, he fell. Fun times, included a similar incident in a story here.

Also, shower sex is near impossible on a train, also included in a story.

Train sleeper cars are my favorite way to travel, though.

I don't think the Montrealer had any showers, although it was only a one-night trip. New Orleans is a lot further, well over twenty-four hours, but it's still only one night on the train. I thought Amtrak has showers somewhere, but I'd have to check. Anyway, there are very few sleeper trains compared to what there used to be. There are still some in Europe. Paul Theroux found quite a few of them around the world in his travel books, but some of that was decades ago. Like he went through Mexico on two trains in 1979, I think. Now there are virtually no intercity trains at all in that country.

So the showers must have been on the Superliners? Depending on how fast the train is going it's kind of hard to see what's going on from the outside. Station stops are a different matter, of course.

So Amtrak may suck, but it has been heavily subsidized from the beginning. You can justify short-distance trains but not the longer ones so much. In any case, I don't know why Congress supports it because it barely serves most places. (I'm not saying that it's worth the cost of doing that.) I suspect they look at the map, see that their state is on it, go, "okay, I'll vote for it," and then move on to something more important.

The space wasn't the issue, it was the car rocking. Like, just showering was difficult, lol.

Last time I travelled was about 8 years ago so I don't know how it has changed but the four trips I took are unbeatable to me. I didn't have to drive, I could relax, the sex was great, the showers sucked, the food was decent and the companions were...interesting.

The one thing I hated was being seated with random people in the dining car. My husband is quite a bit older than me so he got some "good for you" looks from the guys in the room across from us, while I just got dirty glares from the old woman half of the couple to our side. (We were in a roomette at the end of the car, so only one direct neighbor, thankfully. ) Alien abduction dude was the only good dining car experience we had.

Yes, you didn't have to drive, but should the taxpayers pick up any of the tab? (Although, even with subsidies, sleeping car fares are expensive.) I don't remember what the Montrealer dining car was like. I seem to remember two-person tables, but maybe I'm just wrong. I do recall that the food quality was - reasonable? It's been up and down a lot since then.

Left dominate eye. My son is the same way, right-handed but with a left dominate eye. When he was young and I was teaching him to shoot, he would do so left-handed. Since I am left-handed I thought he was just emulating me, until I tested him. It's a simple self-administered test. Hold your arm out and put your thumb up. Pick a point who's image your thumb will cover. With both eyes open center your thumb over the object. Now close your left eye. Can you still see the object? If not you are right eye dominate, if so you are left eye dominate. A great example of this was in the movie "Firebirds" with Nicolas Cage. They were fitting him with a sighting monocle for his right eye and found out he couldn't use it because he was left eye dominate.

Yes, but never in a painful way. I was too shy and awkward to date before college, and by then I was attracted to more mature partners, so I was lucky that none of the relationships ended angrily or with much drama.

No. I once got home from a babysitting job and realized that I'd been paid twice, once by the wife before they left for the night and again by the husband when they got home. By the time I realized I was in bed, and I tossed all night out of guilt, feeling like the worst person ever. I returned the money the next morning and they just laughed, telling me they'd have never realized if I had kept it. I'd be far too guilty to steal from someone.

Not that counts. Some silly stuff on the playground as a small kid, but never since then.

Yes. Out my bedroom as a teen.

Left dominate eye. My son is the same way, right-handed but with a left dominate eye. When he was young and I was teaching him to shoot, he would do so left-handed. Since I am left-handed I thought he was just emulating me, until I tested him. It's a simple self-administered test. Hold your arm out and put your thumb up. Pick a point who's image your thumb will cover. With both eyes open center your thumb over the object. Now close your left eye. Can you still see the object? If not you are right eye dominate, if so you are left eye dominate. A great example of this was in the movie "Firebirds" with Nicolas Cage. They were fitting him with a sighting monocle for his right eye and found out he couldn't use it because he was left eye dominate.

I was the first cycle to go through Army basic training with the M16 rifle. I'm left-handed. The first time I was on the auto fire training range I let off a burst and two of the spent cartridges went right past my cheek and down the back of my uniform. I have a faint crossed scar on the back of my neck from those two hot shells. Luckily my platoon leader was also left-handed and experienced much the same thing. He gave me a wooden block he made to tape to my rifle to deflect the shells. Later the Army came out with a small plastic attachment that snapped onto the rifle to do the same thing. Now they have a built in deflector.

But I have fired many different auto-loading rifles and most will do something similar. My dad had an old Savage .22. Every time I fired the damn thing the spent shells would hit my cheek. After shooting 15 or 20 rounds the spot where they hit burned.
