Get her out of the playground?

We have someone in the playground that outed someone on fb. She took her picture, pretended to be her and posted them. Apparently screen shots were sent to mods but the person is here today, posting carefree.

Is it because it happened off site? How do we at least get the person out of the playground?

You have posted your displeasure with this person's behavior on multiple threads over the past week or so. There comes a point in time when you need to trust that other members can choose to act upon information given. In your attempt to report someone's activity as inappropriate, you've indirectly informed others how to contact this person outside of Lit. That's a problem.

If there is a violation of forum rules, report it. Done.

Nah, I'm with her on this one.
Good on you, Iceprincess. Go get them! Go beat their asses with a stick!:D

Is the purpose of this thread to get assistance or to try to stir up drama and bring more people into the fold?

Whoever she is, if she posts that person's personal information on here - real name, location, etc... she can be banned for that. But the violations have to be on here.

Also, you can't just kick someone out of a forum because you don't like what they did (or didn't do?) on Facebook.

My take on the OP's post is that the user in question has taken information and pictures that X provided on Lit (under an assumed name), and posted them on X's facebook profile (where X posts under her real name).
In that case, X's real identity could potentially become known to Litsters.
And that the OP is more worried about everyone's safety (aka leaking of private info and real names). As opposed to just wanting to get at the user or wanting to stir things up.

Not sure if I got it right, tho.

EDIT.
Btw, love your av, Iceprincess. Cracks me up.

The Litster that (allegedly) did this has flat out denied it. So unless there's concrete proof that she did this, it's all moot anyway.

Hmmm, no idea what you are referring to about contacting this person ouside of lit since I have no information other than what was posted publically and what the person who was wronged has publically posted. If you need to say something be specific, I don't know you and can't read any insinuations.

Regardless, I told the person who was wronged that when she finds the truth I will either apologize or stand by all my statements.

I posted that if I knew who this person was I would name them. Someone came to me with the name, I knew of someone else who knew, I verified the name was the same and I posted it. I'm not running for best friend of the year and if people don't like what I did they are always free to give their opinion.

PM Laurel with the particulars.

Someone has already done it

I think I might leave that to the sadists, lol!

I'm not a rah rah let's get everyone together type of girl. At the same time I don't shy away from what is going on. We had another situation where someone was pretending to be someone else, hurt people and there was some backlash there as well. The authors thread recently had some updated rules about behavior put into place and I don't hang out there so I don't know what the disciplinary actions are. If behavior can be punished there, I wanted to know how we can get something similar.

Too long to multiquote everyone, so I'll do 2 posts.

You know normally I don't care about this. But for once I am glad to say it wasn't me! No drama mama! :cattail:

There is a report post button below every post - a red triangle with an exclamation mark in it.

Click on that and you will get a box in which you can express your concerns.

No, that person didn't do it here and that is probably the rule. I think some gb person outed someone's fb and I don't even think he was banned. It was a long time ago, I just ran across it when the gb was a place to watch through the window.

Thank you! I did it for my French prof because I am a terrible student and I had to write that I will try harder and respect my prof, lol 10 times!

It's close enough. No one should post anyone's profile page without permission outside of lit anyway.

The Litster that (allegedly) did this has flat out denied it. So unless there's concrete proof that she did this, it's all moot anyway.

Everyone is always innocent!

Do they read those? I wouldn't mind a behavior rule. It would even curb a little of my trolling!

I told the wronged party I would wait for her decision but I didn't want to ignore this thread and answer questions. Always free to express opinions, good or bad but I won't comment anymore until it's resolved.

Thank you!

Yep, that's the rule.

4. You may not post personal information of other members or, for that matter, anyone else. We do not allow phone numbers, email addresses, private messages or quotes from private emails to be posted on the forum. This rule also covers real names, employment info, and any other personal information that we deem inappropriate.

Everyone is always innocent!
Yep, until proven guilty.

Yes they do. Every single time I have reported a spam post it has been removed promptly. I have been admin & mod on other forums (not vBulletin though) and reports were automatically forwarded as emails.

My post count may not matter much, but I can vouch for the member who is alleged to have passed another member's information to a Facebook site.

I've met her in person and engage her frequenrly through a number of means, to include PMs via Lit.

She used to have a slew of pics posted to her pic thread but started taking them down a while ago (like a period of months). She only recently deleted the source pics on photobucket so even the quoted pics are not visible, but her pics have been around for quite some time. She once had a proof pic of "We love Lit!" dead center in the first page of the thread.

She is not a guy who is posing as a woman; far from that for sure. She wouldn't have a need to out anyone because she was ignored/blown-off/advances resisted/etc. She doesn't have the flippin' time to craft shit like this.

I can't explain why this has happened or why someone went to great length to doctor an image to include her profile name, but I can also attest that she doesn't have an inbox count anywhere as high as what this asshole has in the doctored pic. Frankly, she's too smart to leave something like that even exposed, so that's another reason why it's a no-brainer for me to believe her when she says it wasn't her doing.

She can defend herself and certainly doesn't need me to do so in order to validate her presence here on Lit, but I am standing behind her because I know she is legit. I don't want to dredge this up if the dust has settled and folks have moved on, and if anyone wants to discuss further, they are welcome to shoot me a PM.

Thank you for your time.

They are here because this site has 'freedom of speech' which somehow translates into its okay to stalk, bully, harass and be an all around asshole. Many people have been driven from this site and the response is they were some kind of 'pussies' for leaving.

The GB jackals are all over twitter, FB redit, everywhere fine trolls can be found and they will chase people around all day long and again the site knows who they are and are friends with half the worst offenders.

If I were the person who was outed I would look into pressing charges, it can be done these days with all the new cyber laws.

That rule is kind of a joke.

LJ reloaded from the GB was banned for doing that

but.....

he shows right back up as his new ID, every one knows who he is and he just gets to stay and continue to be...him.

There are no real rules here.

Not continuing as Iceprincess says it's been resolved. :)
