Laurel has announced a new themed competition this year:

From the sticky at the top of the Author's Hangout:

Free Speech NEW
themes: censorship and free speech (must be submitted in Reviews & Essays cateogry)
starts: May 14
closes: June 6
winners announced: June 12

This could be an interesting challenge. Start thinking about it now.

Yeah, I saw that.

Can I write a defense of underage sex? I'm serious.

I don't see why not as long as you don't include detailed descriptions of the sex.

It should get bombed hard enough to be a certain winner of the Last Place contest and thus prove that there are certain topics that get censored by prejudice.

In the UK sex between 16 year olds is legal. We can't write about it on Literotica.

Can I write it in Russian?

Again, I don't see why not. If you visit the foreign language threads towards the bottom of the forums list you will see that the Survivor Contest can be in any language.

That's a really fine idea. I'd read it, and no doubt agree with it! As Og said, the age of consent here is 16. Maybe we view things differently.

I even have a cool idea for a title...

No sex? Purleese! We're British!

I like iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit. (Sorry about the typo, finger stuck while looking to the left of your post)

Jeez, we're getting a lot of stickies up there!

I couldn't find the announcement. Could you give me a link?

So it has to be an essay? Can we get away with something like this?

As I plunge my fifteen inches of throbbing man-meat into her quivering calyx of feminine surrender, my thoughts turn to the vital importance of freedom of expression in this fast-paced modern age...

Personally, I think it's going to be awkward with all us saying essenitally the same thing and basically only winning by pissing off the least number of rabid essay readers.

Besides, who's going to adopt the radical platform that free speech is evil and Literotica must burn in penance to what it has unleashed unto poor innocent schoolchildren regarding homosexuality, bondage, sex with someone other than mummy, etc...?

EDITED TO ADD: I think I have my entry. And considering the level of irony-reception among the regular Lit-trolls, I expect i'll be making a healthy competition with Ogg for absolute last place.

Actually, in most states of the US, the minimum age is 16. In some it is 17 and in some it is 18, and that is the highest age. I think that's the idea, to set the minimum age at the highest anywhere so things are acceptable everywhere. I believe the ages are set by legislatures rathere than by referendum, by the way.

Yeah, I know. But free speech and all. Let the debate begin. ;)

All in the best possible taste, I must add.

I didn't know that. Where could I get a list (research purposes, of course)?

It is currently Laurel's 4th post on the Sticky 'Welcome Authors! Please Read.'

What you can get away with? That depends on Laurel and Manu. If you break the rules the readers might make you the winner of the Last Place contest.
