Genital Piercings-want one, need input

It's not an actual piercing of the clit, it's a piercing through the hood. You CAN pierce a clitoris, but it is EXTREMELY rare as it can cause severe damage and completely ruin your clit, and it's even more rare to even find a clitoris developed enough to actually pierce.
A piercings effect on sexual sensation varies from person to person, as well as style of hood piercing, jewelry positioning and jewelry style. There isn't anything anyone can tell you about how YOUR body will react to having something there, unfortunately.
Generally healing time will vary by person, and suggestions on care and time before having sex or allowing body fluids to get on the piercing will vary by piercer.
At a bare minimum, you should refrain from sex for at least the healing time, which is an average of about a week. Think about it this way - do you want all that nastiness inside of a healing puncture wound?
My piercer suggested 6 weeks, and I listened. May have been excessive, but better to be excessive than have an infected clit hood area.
Since it IS a tissue-thin slip of skin, healing is generally one of the fastest piercings to heal if you keep it clean.

Oh my, I knew I went searching one of my other sites for a link for a reason last night! By the time I got there, I forgot what I was searching for *embarrassed grin* There's a really awesome website that talks about body mods of all kinds, including a huge section of all the different kinds of female genital piercings. They even have people who can recommend reputable artists in your area.. I will dig up the link for you today and have it posted by tonight!

Actually, I was changing the jewelry once, and the stupid ball flew across the room and I couldn't find it. I tried to keep the stupid thing in until I could get to the piercer to get a new one, but it ended up falling out at some point at work and closing, and I couldn't work up my nerve again to let some pierce guy look at my vag.

You can also type into a search engine "body mod" and it'll bring up all kinds of sites. Hope this helps.

I do not understand why anyone does that. But then, most body mods I don't understand. I guess to each their own right?
Well thank you all for the input. I definatlly want to do this. When I do I will post before and after. Just searching for the right person to do the piercing now. So if anyone is in the Milwaukee WI area and know of any female piercers let me know please.

why female? I don't know about piercing, but I donated plasma a few times and the only male nurse in the place was much better at sticking the needle so it didn't hurt as much in than the females were (hmm, opersonal experience in other facets of life perhaps?
). He was more friendly too.

Yeah, believe it or not folks, they're very professional, even if their arms are covered in tattoos under a leather, studded vest and a shaven head...and that's just the women!
Seriously though, they're quite professional, especially if you find an experienced one (I recomend asking around, especially if you have any friends with piercings).
