Oddly enough, yes, I love Genesis. I never really got to hear much of the band from when Peter Gabriel was a member, but I enjoy his musical style as well as the direction Phil Colins took the band when he became the lead singer.

yep

Genesis has several good cds I love .. Wind & the Wuthering, ...Then There Were Three, and some others.

Actually, Peter Gabriel's new cd "Up" kicks ass too.

I'm just the opposite. I loved their earlier work before they went and turned "pop." It seemed a lot deeper then. I got to see them on their last tour before Peter Gabriel left. The show was three hours late in starting because it was raining and a leak in the roof was threatening to short out some of the equipment, but it was definately the wait.

I am securely in the Gabriel Camp - Collins is OK as a singer but not in gabriel class

There music went slowly downhill when he left.

They have never matched the albums such as

Foxtrot, Selling England By the Pound, and Lamb Lies Down on Broadway .

they were classics

loved Genesis for a long time....seen them in concert a few times...they put on a good show!

Genesis had to evolve. Even if Peter had stayed with them you know they would have headed in the same general direction. I do love how they grew seperately though

Even after 1000 plays in college I still don't know what abacab means...:)

Peter evolved

Listening to his latest released there's no question about it. I wish he'd still be with Genesis then maybe there'd be another great group to listen to now.

Peter Gabriel is a god.

They had their moments without him, but got too ear-friendly toward the end for my tastest. They were still a decent band, as radio bands go.
